Will Alex Jones’ Divorce Paint Infowars As A Sham?

Alex Jones is undoubtedly one of the most verbose and, um, interesting characters in the world of digital media, but is it all an act?

For years, Jones has been on the outside looking in on many of the world’s largest stories.  He’s been labeled a conspiracy theorist, a title that Jones himself would have trouble denying, and his antics have drawn the ire of many in the mainstream media.  There are even unbelievable conspiracy theories about Jones himself; one being that he’s a paid shill for the U.S. government whose sole purpose is to spread disinformation, and another stating that he is actually comedian Bill Hicks, who, in theory faked his own death to “become” Jones.

While the most likely answer for Jones’ exuberance is merely his excitability and the career he has constructed out of his mannerisms, there may be something to the idea that the outspoken figurehead of is not exactly who he says he is.  At least according to his own lawyer.

“’He’s playing a character. He is a performance artist,’ said Randall Wilhite, a lawyer in Jones’ child custody dispute with his ex-wife Kelly Jones, according to a Austin American-Statesman report. In contrast, Kelly Jones has insisted that ‘he’s not a stable person. He says he wants to break Alec Baldwin’s neck. He wants J-Lo to get raped.’”

“She added, ‘I’m concerned that he is engaged in felonious behavior, threatening a member of Congress. He broadcasts from home. The children are there, watching him broadcast.’

“According to District Judge Orlina Naranjo, this case is going to be about Jones’ capacity to be a good parent to the three children he and Kelly Jones have, not the content of his controversial show Infowars.”

Alex Jones has become fodder for millennial meme-makers in recent months, as his rambling nature has led to many out-of-context statements being appropriated for use in all corners of the internet.  The boisterous and thundering ravings of the internet host have done little to dispel these attacks on his character, and if his lawyer is being honest, it is simply his character that has been attacked.
