Donald Trump speech

You Won’t Believe Who Is Criticizing Trump Now

Of all people to go after GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump for the incendiary tone of his campaign, a man with less room to talk than just about any soul living or dead blasted the candidate over the weekend for his hateful rhetoric.

“This is the most reckless, violent, despicable election season that any of us have seen in our life time,” said — drum roll! — race huckster Al Sharpton at his weekly National Action Network rally in Harlem, adding, “We are in the midst of a national crisis.”

New York’s Daily News observes that Sharpton’s comments “came a day after a wild and violent week of Trump campaign stops.” That may well be true. But where in the world does Sharpton get off lecturing anyone on civility?

Here is a man that has been so divisive, so provocative that he pre-organized protests in 25 U.S. cities pending the grand jury decision in the shooting death of Michael Brown. A man so cynical that the families of Brown, Eric Garner, and Trayvon Martin accused him of exploiting the deaths of their loved one for personal financial gain.

According to the The Daily News Sharpton said:

If I had said any of the things Trump has been saying, they would have ran [sic] me out of the race. He says things for which he does not have to take responsibility.

Sharpton has yet to take responsibility for his role in perpetuating the Tawana Brawley rape hoax, which ended the career of falsely accused police officer Stephen Pagones.
