Trump’s Law and Order Attitude Helps Police Deaths Plummet in 2017

Our great nation is returning to prosperity and prominence under the guidance of Donald J. Trump, and the windfall has included some unexpected benefits.

We all understood clearly that President Trump’s business acumen would inject an extreme vote of confidence into our economy during his time behind the desk in The Oval Office – that much simply made sense.  Upon this confidence, the nation’s economy has now risen meteorically to record-shattering heights, with this high tide rising a whole fleet of vessels in its wake.

Another piece of the Trump agenda as it was laid out to the American people, was the return to law and order.  No longer would the President allow criminality to run amok in our nation’s streets, and there would be no pity for those who choose to willingly disavow the tenets of our grand society.

This ethos has now come home to roost in a big way, as law enforcement statistics are now demonstrating.

“The number of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty dropped sharply in 2017, marking the second-lowest toll in more than 50 years.

“As of Thursday, 128 officers have died in the line of duty this year, with 44 shot and killed. That’s down 10% from 2016, when 143 officers died, with 66 gunned down, according to data released by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, a nonprofit aimed at honoring officers and improving safety.

“The only other year with fewer deaths in the past five decades was 2013, when 116 officers were killed.

“‘This is one of those good-news, bad-news situations,’ said Craig Floyd, president and chief executive of the fund. ‘On one hand, you had 128 officers who made the ultimate sacrifice, showing the cost of public safety, but for the first time since 2013, the number of deaths has actually declined.'”

Of course, the only acceptable number for deaths in the line of duty should be zero, but until that day arrives we will cherish every decrease that we see.

This overwhelming push toward bringing our nation back to it’s former greatness cannot be accomplished without the discipline and order of our nation’s legal system.  We must have our time-tested laws obeyed in order for our republic to function in its finest form.  With this now-decreased targeting of our nation’s police force, America is hopeful that this indicator is ushering in a new era of peace in the street.
