In the early evening last night, the President of the United States made one of his most important announcements, and one that the left was hoping beyond all hope he wouldn’t be called on to make.
Of course, I’m talking about the appointment of yet another Supreme Court judge – perhaps one of the most important opportunities that any President will ever have, given that these life-long appointments aren’t always guaranteed to come up for debate during anyone’s first or second terms.
Trump, by the luck of the draw, has now been at the helm during two such instances, having already installed Justice Neal Gorsuch to the high court early in his fledgling presidency.
Now, as the time approaches for a second judge to be appointed by the populist President, the radicalized, liberal left was prepared to fight against just about anyone that the President considered for the role. This has sent the democrats into a tizzy, of course, with pre-planned protests for anyone that the President nominated.
In typical liberal fashion, things turned violent.
Fox News anchor Shannon Bream had a sudden change of plans on the night of President Donald Trump‘s historic announcement of his Supreme Court nominee.
Earlier on Monday night, Trump nominated D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Brett Kavanaugh to fill the soon-to-be-vacant seat of Justice Anthony Kennedy, who announced his retirement last month.
After the big primetime reveal by the president, Bream had planned on doing a live show from outside the steps of the Supreme Court. But her plans were scuttled thanks to protests near her broadcast location.
Breen took to Twitter to report on what she described as a “volatile” mood by protesters.
“Very few times I’ve felt threatened while out in the field. The mood here tonight is very volatile,” Bream tweeted. “Law enforcement appears to be closing down 1st Street in front of SCOTUS.”
Unfortunately, the President’s pick is going to be an extremely difficult one for the democrats to find objection to. Kavanaugh is a straight shooter when it comes to the way in which the government operates.
After the announcement of his nomination to the Supreme Court, Judge Brett Kavanaugh stated, “A judge must be independent and must interpret the law, not make the law. A judge must interpret statutes as written, and a judge must interpret the Constitution as written, informed by history and tradition and precedent.”
Kavanaugh said, “The framers established that the Constitution is designed to secure the blessings of liberty. Justice Kennedy devoted his career to securing liberty. I am deeply honored to be nominated to fill his seat on the Supreme Court.”
Still, the rage continues in Washington, as the liberal left grows ever more upset at the realities of how American government works.
It is this ignorance which is truly frightening, as combining such desperate angst with these fresh, anti-Constitutional beliefs is a recipe for dangerous thinking and incitement of a revolt. Let us all hope that it doesn’t come to that…no matter how badly the left wants it.
