In the world of bleeding heart liberalism, there are few Scarlet Letters more damning than accusations of outright racism.
That is why the left spent an inordinate amount of time attempting to paint eventual President Donald Trump as some sort of supreme bigot during the 2016 election. Every week it seemed that the left had concocted yet another bizarre logical maze in which they could get the words “racism” and “Trump” to end up near each other on the front page of one of their rags.
That’s why ultraliberal Hollywood femi-Nazi Lena Dunham is facing more criticism than ever, after a former colleague detailed her own horrific experience with the Girls star and her blatant “hipster racism”.
“In a lengthy statement posted on Facebook and Twitter on Sunday, Zinzi Clemmons said she has known Dunham since they ‘ran in the same circles in college,’ but said the actress and her friends engaged in ‘hipster racism.’
“‘It is time for women of color — black women in particular — to divest from Lena Dunham,’ Clemmons tweeted with images of her statement.
“Clemmons wrote they had ‘mutual acquaintances and still do,’ describing them as people like Dunham, who are ‘wealthy, with parents who are influential in the art world.’
“‘Back in college, I avoided those people like the plague because of their well-known racism,’ she wrote. ‘I’d call their strain “hipster racism,” which typically uses sarcasm as a cover, and in the end, it looks a lot like gaslighting — “It’s just a joke. Why are you overreacting?” is a comment response to these kinds of statements,’ the former Lenny Letter writer wrote.
“’In Lena’s circle, there was a girl who was known to use the N word in conversation in order to be provocative, and if she was ever called on it, she would say “it’s just a joke.” I was often in the same room with her, but I never spoke to her, only watched her from afar in anxiety and horror,’ Clemmons said.”
Dunham, whose past behavior has been detailed in excruciating realism via her various creative outlets, has long been provocative for the sake of being provocative. It is likely the only way that militant feminists such as her could garner the attention they desire during college soirées.
This tip of the spear liberalism is no better than the racism Dunham is being accused of. By immediately reneging on her insensitive language by claiming “it was just a joke”, Dunham is allowing her so-called “white privilege” as a get-out-of-jail-free card among her diverse group of friends, doubly sinning in the eyes of the leftist cult.
