There is a line in the sand being drawn by Texas in regard to the overt abuse of political correctness that has been festering out west for decades.
California, the liberal stronghold on our westernmost expanse, has consistently bucked American conservatism in favor of leftist political nonsense, year in and year out. The costly and restrictive state has been at the forefront of the liberal New Fascist movement as well, with violent riots occurring on the campus of UC Berkeley in response to the scheduled speaking engagement of gay conservative author Milo Yiannopolous.
Now that the Bear Republic has proposed their own discriminatory travel ban against American states with religious freedom laws, they are seeing opposition from across this great nation. Of course, personal liberty is at a premium in Texas, allowing the Lone Star State to be one of the first to publicly ridicule California for their latest foible.
“Texas fired back at California’s state-sponsored travel ban, with Attorney General Ken Paxton pointing out that most of the political refugees in Texas are actually from California.
“The travel ban, which forbids California state workers from traveling to Texas or hosting official events in the Lone Star State with public funds, was mocked by Paxton and other Texas state officials who referred to a study revealing that most new Texans are from California.
“’I talk to people almost every day who made the trek from California to Texas, and without fail, they tell me their move is due to either greater job opportunities, much lower-priced housing, an escape from a left-coast political climate, or just a better quality of culture and life,’ Paxton stated.
“In 2015, over 550,000 people moved to Texas while California lost nearly 650,000 people, with over 10% of them going to Texas.”
Everything is bigger in Texas, including the attitudes, apparently.
California, for what it’s worth, earned the snarky response from Texas after years of liberal malarky. Just months ago, California was sincerely considering “Calexit”, a referendum in which the immense state would secede from the U.S. due to their overwhelming opposition to the presidency of Donald Trump. When the liberal crybabies were unable to get their way, they began concocting their tawdry travel ban instead.
