Liberals become apoplectic when Conservatives oppose murdering babies.
Some stories are so crazy on their own that merely reporting them seems like a spin. So let me quote some of this Texas Tribune story so you can read the details for yourself:
When it comes to issues related to health, state Rep. Jessica Farrar says that men should have to undergo the same “unnecessary” and “invasive” procedures that she says Texas women are subjected to under recently passed state laws.
The bill would also let doctors invoke their “personal, moralistic, or religious beliefs” in refusing to perform an elective vasectomy or prescribe Viagra, among other proposed requirements in the bill.
The Texas Representative who is behind this bill is trying to satirically counter the anti-abortion argument battling its way through the Texas legislature right now. She thinks she’s being clever:
In proposing a fine for masturbation, Farrar says that if a man’s semen is not used to create a pregnancy, “then it’s a waste … because that semen can be used — and is to be used — for creating more human life.”
Farrar continued: “Men have to answer for their actions and so forth. So if there’s going to be an emission, it would have to be done in a hospital where the semen could be preserved for future pregnancies or it would be directly deposited into the vagina of a woman.”
The Congresswoman is comparing semen to a fertilized egg. They are not the same thing. They aren’t even close to being the same thing. If this were a debate over what a woman has the right to do with her unfertilized eggs, then it would be an appropriate analogy to debate what a man has the right to do with his semen.
But this is a debate over what woman have the right to do to fertilized eggs. Fertilized eggs are unborn humans. The law has criminalized murder. Murdering someone can net you the death penalty — or at least life without parole.
A man who accidentally spills a cup of his semen at a fertility clinic does not deserve the death penalty. Neither does, for that matter, a woman who passes through her menstral cycle every month. This congresswoman’s argument is absurd. It is beyond absurd.
It’s a joke, and an offensive one at that. Who’s taking the bait? There are eight comments on the story at Perez Hilton’s website. He is opposed to conservative values. You would think his readers would be, too. And yet, when you actually read what the have to say, you will be completely surprised…
