There has been much ado about the satirical diagnosis known as “Trump Derangement Syndrome” lately, as a sad game of oneupmanship takes place around the nation.
The left has come unhinged, undeniably. We have seen an exorbitant and, frankly worrisome amount of anti-Trump violence over the course of the last two years, mutating and writhing about both in the general population and in the upper echelons of politics and Hollywood. There is a new scandal every week, at this point, and that fact should be concerning to any and all patriotic Americans.
On the left, however, the race to the fringes has continued to grow, sporting a field of academics, celebrities, and other rabble rousers who are looking to latch on to the “resistance” limelight in order to bolster their own image. The idiotic stunts that they have been pulling, from Kathy Griffin to Maxine Waters, have been increasing in their general mania as well, all leading to what, today, may be one of the most ridiculous instances of Trump Derangement Syndrome ever imagined.
A sociology professor at the College of Southern Nevada shot himself in the arm with a .22 pistol in protest of President Donald Trump.
The professor’s wounds are not life-threatening, but he now faces multiple charges for bringing the gun onto campus to carry out the protest.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that the professor, Mark J. Bird, shot himself in a bathroom on campus, then stumbled out, “bleeding, before he collapsed.”
Bird taped a $100 bill to the mirror prior to shooting himself as a tip to the janitor for cleaning up the mess.
At least he had the decency to tip the janitor, but I will say that this reeks of Hollywood drama and academia’s recent hysteria.
We mustn’t forget that the campus once known as the “birthplace” of Free Speech was the scene of violent riots aimed at preventing a gay, conservative author from speaking not more than a year and a half ago.
