So in order to determine where Americans bleed the most red, white and blue, WalletHub’s data team compared the states across 13 key indicators of patriotism. Our data set ranges from share of enlisted military population to share of adults who voted in the 2016 presidential election to AmeriCorps volunteers per capita.

The states were graded using a 100 point scale and looking at indicators of patriotism that were based on military and civic engagement. A score of 100 meant perfectly patriotic, with the score diminishing from there as the score decreased.

The data considered things like military enlistees, active-duty military personnel, veterans, and share of adults who voted in the recent presidential election.

What WalletHub found was that according to their rankings the 7 least patriotic states in the nation ALL voted to elect Hillary Clinton as our President. Here are the bottom seven, in order, beginning with the least patriotic: New Jersey, Illinois, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Connecticut, and California.

Meanwhile 6 of the top-10 patriotic sites voted for President Trump.

Make of the information what you will, but it’s certainly interesting.

What do you think? Is there a correlation between patriotism and how a person votes?

I am the supreme law of the United States. Originally comprising seven articles, I delineate the national frame of government. My first three articles entrench the doctrine of the separation of powers, whereby the federal government is divided into three branches: the legislative, consisting of the bicameral Congress; the executive, consisting of the President; and the judicial, consisting of the Supreme Court and other federal courts. Articles Four, Five and Six entrench concepts of federalism, describing the rights and responsibilities of state governments and of the states in relationship to the federal government. Article Seven establishes the procedure subsequently used by the thirteen States to ratify it. I am regarded as the oldest written and codified constitution in force of the world.
