Steve Scalise Issues Prescient Warning on Escalating Rhetoric

Just over a year ago, Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise experienced something that we wouldn’t wish on our worst enemies.

Scalise and a number of other members of the GOP were practicing on a baseball diamond in Virginia for an upcoming charity game that had been a tradition in the Beltway for some time.  Suddenly, the hot air of the dusty field was shattered with the crack of gunfire…and lots of it.

Then came the shouting:  “THIS IS FOR HEALTHCARE!” in between the smattering of hundreds of gunshots.

When it was all said and done, Capitol Police, armed only with their service pistols, were able to fatally subdue the shooter, James T. Hodgksinson; a radical leftist who once worked for the Bernie Sanders campaign and was involved in several terrifying Facebook groups.

The damage had been done, however.  Not only was our national peace splintered by these first volleys of violence in the left’s “New Civil War”, but Representative Steve Scalise was horrifically injured.

Thankfully, having recovered from his dire situation, Scalise has returned to work with a hero’s welcome, and has been one of the most prominent voices when it comes to the escalating violence around the nation.

This week was no exception:

Couldn’t have said it better myself, Representative Scalise.

We are a nation of people who must reach deep within ourselves, and trust our humanity to intervene before the radical left succeeds in pushing us over the edge.  We are all Americans, regardless of what side of the aisle we relate to.
