This is socialist “healthcare” folks.
While liberals may argue that socialism means more people get insurance coverage, they forget to mention that it also means that the hospital and the government now get to make the final decision about YOUR healthcare. That’s right, it’s no longer up to you. You want to try an experimental trial to fight whatever disease/sickness you face? That’s too bad, the hospital would prefer that you die with dignity. What? You’re willing to PAY for the procedure yourself? Too bad. You’re not allowed.
I’m not being hyperbolic. I’m not saying that this could happen. It’s already happening. And, it’s coming to America.
This is some evil big government stuff here. Straight out of 1984 tbh. https://t.co/0gbT375kma

On June 27, the parents of 10-month-old Charlie Gard lost their final appeal to travel to the United States to have him treated for a rare brain disorder. The European Court of Human Rights (EHCR) denied the appeal of London parents Chris Gard and Connie Yates, which means that his life support will be removed and, at some point, he will be allowed to die.
Charlie’s parents raised over £1.4million in private donations via GoFundme to pay for the treatment and their travel expenses. Charlie Gard suffers from a mitochondrial disease that causes muscle weakness and brain damage. His parents wanted to bring him to the United States for experimental nucleoside treatment, but the administrators and doctors at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children denied the request. Their alternative? Withdraw life support, administer palliative care, and let Charlie “die with dignity.”
Let that sink in a minute: This treatment would have come at no cost to the hospital or the National Health Service (NHS), and would have been covered completely by private donations. They denied the parents their right to determine care for their own child.
The parents fought the hospital’s decision. They took their case to the courts and to the world community. They were able to raise more than $1 Million to pay for travel and for the treatments themselves, so they wouldn’t be a burden to their socialist system. The courts denied them. The hospital said no. And now they’ll have to watch their innocent baby boy be executed by the state… all so the baby could “die with dignity.”
Some of the reaction on Twitter is spot on:
https://t.co/sFRAQYjV58 This is what happens when the government pays for your healthcare. They decide if you live or die. 1/

But that would never happen HERE. 🙄

Socialist healthcare is literally executing innocent people now. And this will soon be happening in America too. Because it has to. This is what socialist healthcare really looks like.
Today, the story grew even uglier as the parents explained that the hospital had denied their request to have one more week with their son, and that their request to take him home had also been denied.
Charlie Gard’s bereft parents have blasted his ‘heartless’ doctors who have refused to let him come home to die, MailOnline can reveal today.
Connie Yates and Chris Gard have been told by Great Ormond Street their son’s life support will be switched off tomorrow but he cannot leave the ward.
The couple’s ‘final wish’ for Charlie has been blocked and his mother Connie said today in a video for MailOnline: ‘We promised our little boy every single day that we would take him home’.
Mr Gard added: ‘We want to give him a bath at home, put him in a cot which he has never slept in but we are now being denied that. We know what day our son is going to die but don’t get a say in how that will happen’.
The couple have also accused Great Ormond Street of trying to ‘rush’ his death despite promises they would have the time they needed to say goodbye to their only son…
His father Chris, 32, said: ‘Our parental rights have been stripped away. We can’t even take our own son home to die. We’ve been denied that. Our final wish if it all went against us can we take our little boy home to die and we are not allowed.
‘They even said no to a hospice’…
‘We begged them to give us the weekend,’ Ms Yates said, ‘Friends and family wanted to come and see Charlie for the last time. But now there isn’t even time for that. Doctors said they would not rush to turn off his ventilator but we are being rushed.
‘Not only are we not allowed to take our son to an expert hospital to save his life, we also can’t choose how or when our son dies.’
We cannot allow ourselves to forget the true depravity of government-run anything.
