Which Does Obama Care About More: Stopping the Zika Virus or Funding Planned Parenthood?

His veto threat shows that Barack Obama cares only about funding abortion.

President Barack Obama cares about Planned Parenthood. Deformed babies are a price he is willing to pay.

NBC News reports,

The White House has been begging Congress for money to fight the Zika virus epidemic since last February. But President Barack Obama said Thursday he’d veto a bill the House and Senate are preparing.

Trending: Sour Lemon

The House passed a measure Wednesday night as Democrats staged a sit-in over gun legislation. It would provide $1.1 billion to prepare for, study and fight the Zika virus. Obama asked for $1.9 billion, and the White House says the bill also carries some unacceptable riders aimed at damaging Planned Parenthood and other family planning groups.

Riders that damage Planned Parenthood? That makes it sound like Congress is trying to defund Planned Parenthood and is using the Zika virus for leverage. NBC never explains how these riders work but simply allows the White House spokesman to pass on deceptive evasions.

Only Donald Trump gets evaluated.

This allegation is rather strange because Republicans in Congress have completely funded Planned Parenthood.

Their real sin is not giving Planned Parenthood more funding.

Breitbart explains,

President Obama is threatening to veto the Republican Zika virus funding bill because it doesn’t fund Planned Parenthood, which has attempted to develop the narrative that abortion and contraception – which it provides – will curtail the virus’ spread.

“The virus is mostly seen as a threat to women who are pregnant or trying to become pregnant,” reports the Wall Street Journal. “It produces mild, if any, symptoms and is believed to be transmitted mainly by mosquito bites.”

Republicans agreed to a $1.1 billion funding plan that contains a provision that would block Planned Parenthood – the nation’s largest abortion business – from providing birth control to women allegedly at risk of being infected with the Zika virus.

Again, Planned Parenthood is already funded. Sadly, abortion is already legal in all fifty states. It is covered by Obamacare. Birth control is readily available.

So what is so important that it justifies leaving the Zika virus unchecked?

Of course, I’m assuming for the sake of argument that the government can actually help with the Zika virus. Another possibility is that everyone knows that it won’t make any difference but is merely an excuse for politicians to pass money to key allies. In that case, Obama doesn’t believe anything is really at stake except the chance to funnel money leftward.
