The SCOTUS Abortion Decision Gave Democrats More Power, and That’s All They Ever Wanted

Sometimes, it can be difficult to understand the rationale of Democrats.

On one hand, you have a group of politicians who want to regulate every single aspect of our lives–down to the type of lightbulb we use in our own homes. On the other hand, you have the same individuals saying that any regulation of abortion is tantamount to chaining women to their stoves and vacuums, relegating them to a horrific past in which they couldn’t execute their children on demand.

If one were to look at Democratic behavior from an objective position, it might appear illogical–but there’s the kicker. Liberal ideology follows a perfectly logical path if it is viewed through the proper lens.

Trending: Sour Lemon

The Supreme Court recently came to a decision on Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt that made the Left extraordinarily happy. SCOTUS struck down a Texas law that demanded abortion clinics have hospital admitting privileges, and approximately the same health standards as hospital surgical centers. Less regulation…and liberals are happy.

Remove the moral idea that abortion is murder, and think about that.

On every single issue, the Left howls about the need for regulation, but when it comes to making sure abortion clinics are safe and clean, they suddenly change their tune. One would think that if the Left cared so much for “women’s reproductive health” (as they call it so they can sleep at night), they would want the procedures to be as safe as possible. One would think the Left would want clinics regulated to within an inch of their lives. Yet, the Left went full bore against Texas’ abortion regulations.

This indicates one of two things. Either Democratic politicians are radically stupid, or they have an agenda. I happen to believe that they have an agenda, and that agenda is power.

If one views the behavior of Democratic politicians through this lens (the desire for power), one can make sense of everything they do. They regulate our lightbulbs because they want to appear compassionate about the environment. Climate change is killing us, and we’re the party that’s doing something. Vote for us!

The reason they won’t regulate abortion is the same. They need it to look like they care about “women’s health” and the “freedom to choose.” If they make it more difficult to get an abortion–regardless of the positive effect it may have on women’s health if abortion clinics were regulated as surgical centers (because that’s basically what they are)–they’ll look like the bad guys. They need to look like the warriors for women that they claim to be.

It’s a disgusting perspective. The Left cares more about appearances than they do about keeping women safe and healthy. Wow.

It’s all about dominance. Perfectly-tailored rhetoric is a very powerful tool on the path to authority. The Democrats don’t give a crap about women’s health, they just want women to zombie-walk to the polls and vote for them.

If you ever have difficulty understanding the logic of the Left, simply look through the proper lens. Everything will line up. Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt was a tragic decision, but not for Democrats. They gained social power, and that’s all that matters.
