The politically correct notion of forcing diversity on American institutions has seen its fair share of embarrassing failures, and this week, we can add another to the list.
All men are created equal. This is one of our society’s most basic, yet important tenets. We are all able to rise from, or to our environment in order to succeed in our pursuit of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This concept embodies the grand system of the United States, and of the universe as a whole.
When we attempt to tamper with that ideal, we often find ourselves in a quagmire of segregation stemming from our idea of forced equality. To force equality is to entitle or coddle one particular trait of a human being without seeing the human for the sum of his or her parts. It’s unnatural, and it’s harmful to our societal vision.
When diversity is forced upon a business, a school, or an organization, it negates the very idea that we are all equal. Instead, it creates a great deal of inequality, in which rightfully situated citizens are removed and replaced with others in an attempt to appease the political correctness police.
Such is the case at one school in North Hollywood.
“Outrage has grown at Walter Reed Middle School in North Hollywood, as the school faces layoffs and increased class sizes due to a law limiting funds for schools with a higher white student body.
“The Los Angeles Unified School District provides more funding for schools where the white population is below 30 percent.
“In a letter to parents, the district noted the highly regarded middle school had been above the percentage for the past couple years.
“The racial formula was a condition imposed by court decisions dealing with desegregation in the 1970s.”
The most disturbing piece of information in this entire situation is that school children will suffer due to the diversity of their own city. They will not have equal opportunities in their school district because they are too diverse.
So much for being created equal.
