Russia Continues Harassment of U.S. Military with Dangerous Aerial Maneuver

The Russian military has once again performed unacceptably dangerous maneuvers aimed at provoking the United States to action.

For months, the Russian and U.S. military have been acting out the diplomatic drama that has been festering between the two nations.  These Cold War foes have been locked in a hyperbolic cage in the Middle Eastern nation of Syria, duking it out both on the airwaves and in joint airspace.  Now, as Russia continues to threaten the world’s most powerful military, due to their own poor decision in siding with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, the United States is quickly approaching the point of no return.

The latest maneuver that has many in Washington nervously shuffling their feet occurred on Monday, as an armed Russian fighter jet buzzed a U.S. aircraft with 5 feet.  The action comes a day after Russian President Vladimir Putin has vowed to shoot down any flying object over Syria – a transparent threat against the United States alone.

“The Russian Su-27 jet had air-to-air missiles under its wings and approached the U.S. Air Force RC-135 recon jet ‘rapidly,’ coming within 5 feet of the American aircraft, the officials said.

“Once alongside, the Russian jet was ‘provocative’ in its flight maneuvers and flying ‘erratically,’ according to another official.

“Since June 2 there have been more than 35 interactions in the Baltic Sea region between U.S. and Russian jets and warships, but the incident Monday morning is notable because the U.S. military considered it ‘unsafe,’ according to one official.

“The incident comes one day after the Russian Defense Ministry said it would treat any U.S. jet flying west of the Euphrates River in Syria as a potential target, following a U.S. Navy jet’s shoot-down of a Syrian jet that was targeting U.S.-aligned fighters.”

Russia’s president pestering of the United States during the fledgling presidency of Donald Trump was to be expected at first.  With little political experience, there was no doubt that Vladimir Putin was look to test The Donald now that he is squarely on the world stage, however, these latest stunts are growing more dangerous by the minute and will soon require U.S. action in order to quell the chaos.

Furthermore, the sheer amount of threats being levied by the Russian in the general direction of the United States are at an all time high, even for the bloated ego of Putin.  As the Russian President continues to meddle not only in Syria, but the United States’ policing of North Korea, it has become clear that the Kremlin is looking for nothing more than a conflict, likely in retaliation for the consistent insults being hurled at Moscow by the American political left with their insistence on a cockamamy conspiracy theory regarding Putin’s involvement in the 2016 president election in the U.S.
