There are 15 cabinet positions President-Elect (P-E) Trump is to fill in addition to the numerous non-cabinet positions that are still being considered.
As of now, a formal offer has been extended to only a few to join his team, which covers just a handful of the open positions.
Several important roles, like leading the State Department, are still up in the air. It is rumored Mitt Romney is under consideration for this post, once held by Hilary Clinton. As you may recall, the former Governor of Massachusetts was a staunch critic of Trump right up to election night. Whether or not this is just an olive branch or a serious consideration on Trump’s part, remains to be seen. However, he has announced Gov. Nikki Haley as his choice for U.N. Ambassador, which, in addition to other things, shows his willingness to put campaign trail animosities behind him as the two, oftentimes, bumped heads on topics related to Trump’s stance on placing a moratorium on certain people coming from countries known to be terrorist hot-beds.
