POTUS Is NOT Playing Around on Immigration, Threatens Gov’t Shutdown

When President Trump was still grinding out stump speeches on the campaign trail in 2016, he promised the American people one thing above all:  A return to law and order on the border.

Trump’s “big, beautiful” wall between the United States and Mexico was absolutely key to his push for immigration reform, and the concept resonated with Americans of all shapes and sizes and political leanings.  After all, we’re not talking about discrimination, racism, or hate; this move is simply meant to bring some semblance of sanity back into the immigration conversation.

Simply put, we cannot be a nation of laws without the ability to properly enforce them.

Border patrol agencies, and the unions that represent them, wholeheartedly endorsed Donald Trump based on this push for total border security – something that no other candidate in history can claim.  And when the men and women of border patrol think you’ve got it right, there isn’t anyone out there who can possibly make an argument.  Literally, there is no one more qualified to tell us what the needs are on the ground in U.S. border states, despite the democrats’ belief that they somehow know better.

Now, more than a year into his first term, the President has hit legislative wall after legislative wall, no pun intended, as the left ignores the necessity of such an implementation in the name of their own ridiculous “resistance”.  These leftist lunatics are simply opposing the President for the sake of opposition, while additionally bolstering their own voter rolls with illegal immigrants who likely cast millions of votes in the last election.

Trump, however, has had enough.  The President today is threatening the left with a government shutdown should they refuse to fall in line with the latest push for immigration reform, which includes the much-needed wall.

“President Trump said he would shut down the government if Congress doesn’t fix an immigration system that doesn’t allow the government to deport criminal gang members.

“;If we don’t change it, let’s have a shutdown. It’s worth it for our country. I’d love to see a shutdown if we don’t get this taken care of,; Trump said Tuesday as he met with law enforcement officials to discuss the threat of the MS-13 gang.

“Trump’s shutdown threat received immediate pushback even from Rep. Barbara Comstock, R-Va., whose suburban Washington district includes a high percentage of federal government workers and contractors.

“‘We don’t need a government shutdown on this,’ she told Trump. ‘I think both sides learned that a shutdown is bad.'”

“‘We are not getting support of the Democrats,’ Trump shot back. “‘You can say what you want.'”

When asked later by a reporter about the seriousness of his threat, the President refused to back down, reiterating that he has no problem allowing a shutdown to occur in order to sway the divisive democrats.

In the era of Trump, the democrats will need to adapt quickly to their new role as both punchline and punching bag, especially when it comes to legislation that We The People have already made our opinions clear on.

If we didn’t want the wall, there’d be a Clinton in the White House.
