Pope Francis has proven time and again to be one of the most liberal-leaning high pontiffs in a very, very long time.
Now, with the world’s leaders convening in Hamburg, Germany for the left-protested G20 Summit, the religious leader from Vatican City has issued a dire warning over the allegiances being formed at the meeting. Where the Catholic Church has often erred on the side of unity in the past, it seems that Francis’ own left-leaning stance on several societal subjects has crept into his rhetoric surrounding the summit, particularly as it pertains to the Syrian refugee crisis that has been the scourge of Europe for the past few months.
“Pope Francis said Saturday that the G20 summit in Germany ‘worries’ him because of the potential for ‘very dangerous alliances’ among world leaders, with particularly dire consequences for migrants.
“‘The danger concerns immigration. Our main and unfortunately growing problem in the world today is that of the poor, the weak, the excluded, which includes migrants,’ he said, pointing to countries which ‘fear an invasion of migrants.’
“‘This is why the G20 worries me: It mainly hits immigrants,’ he said.”
This is far from the first time that Pope Francis has displayed heavy liberal beliefs in public, regardless of this traditionally non-political role.
Earlier this year, Francis met with U.S. President Donald Trump for the first time, with the two exchanging customary gifts. The President bestowed upon the pontiff a collection of works by U.S. civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., while the Pope, in a not-so-subtle dig at the Commander in Chief, handed Trump a copy of a letter that Francis himself had written regarding the perils of “global warming”…a hoax bering perpetrated by the leftists and globalists of the world in order to install planetary governmental controls that will negate the sovereignty of several nations.
