Pope Francis has not seen eye to eye with many global conservatives during his tenure as the high pontiff.
In fact, many have claimed that Francis’ downright progressive policies are endangering his own papal position as he continues to politicize the highest office in Vatican City. His loose interpretations of long-help evangelical beliefs is downright at odds with many conservative beliefs on subject ranging from homosexual marriage to global warming – the latter surfacing in a snide “gift” given to President Trump upon their first meeting.
Now, the Pope is continuing to work politics into his religious position, this time taking on international immigration with a zeal and panache that only he can, making absurd claims about the weight of the law versus the reality of the situation.
“Pope Francis on Monday urged countries to greatly improve their welcome to migrants and stop collective expulsions, saying migrants’ dignity and right to protection trumps national security concerns.
“Francis’ politically pointed message was made in view of the Catholic Church’s 2018 world refugee day, celebrated Jan. 14. It comes amid mounting anti-immigrant sentiment in Europe and beyond following waves of migrant arrivals and Islamic extremist attacks.
“In the message, Francis demanded governments welcome, protect, promote and integrate migrants, saying Jesus’ message of love is rooted in welcoming the ‘rejected strangers of every age.’
“He demanded a simplified process of granting humanitarian and temporary visas and rejected arbitrary and collective expulsions as ‘unsuitable.’ He said the principle of ensuring each person’s dignity ‘obliges us to always prioritize personal safety over national security.’”
The Pope has been all hope, no history on a litany of subjects during his reign, but this latest declaration is dumbfounding.
By encouraging the world to open its borders hastily and injudiciously, Pope Francis is very literally encouraging radical Islamic terror to continue its woeful spread. Europe, who has foolishly experimented with such open border policies, is in the midst of a terror renaissance the likes of which they may never recover from, as ISIS and other caliphate organizations continue targeting “worshipers of the Cross” in their hateful rampages.
If this papal predicament isn’t simply an egregious oversight by Francis, the implications are even worse.
Should the Pope be actively advocating for the spread of radical Islam throughout the globe, it could be argued that it is to ensure that this holy war continues. Traditionally, war is good for business. It gives the faithful something to rally around, galvanizing their beliefs as they witness the carnage and hatred of the other side. Could this be a ploy by the Pope to strengthen the Catholic base as they bear witness to the horrors of radical Islam?
In this modern age of deceit and globalism, anything is possible.
