As if there weren’t enough reasons to be wary of the House Minority Leader, Nancy Pelosi is now cherry picking her religious ideologies to fit the democratic diatribe.
Of course, this behavior is nothing new for the democrats, who have long maintained an incredible streak of selective amnesia when it comes to pretty much everything under the sun. They’re for it, then they are against it, depending on which way the wind blows and whatever the “kids are into these days”.
We must remember that the left depends on the flippant and nonchalant mood swings of America’s youth in order to maintain what little sway they hold over their voter base. The reason being, (and this is not a slight against young Americans), is that millennial and their contemporaries have yet to experience a great deal of what the world has to offer in terms of trials and tribulations.
So the democrats target these youngsters before they have their worldly bearings about them, hoping to confuse, corral, and coerce them into voting for the leftist cabal.
Now, Nancy Pelosi is going as far as selectively choosing which pieces of the Pope’s religious beliefs that she’ll exploit to get a rise from these youngin’s.
“Wednesday, during her House filibuster in support of protecting people illegally in the U.S., particular minors (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or “DACA”), Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) invoked her Catholic faith:
“‘Maybe I should bring my rosary blessed by the pope… his holiness, Pope Francis, or the one before that, Benedict,” she added. “I have the honor and privilege of receiving rosaries blessed by several popes in my lifetime.'”
That’s cute, Nancy, but what about those unborn children that you’re so willing to have aborted?
“Pelosi has been repeatedly rebuked by bishops, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) and Catholic groups like the Catholic League for her pro-abortion stance. She has returned fire, calling bishops ‘lobbyists’ – because they opposed an Obamacare mandate that violates Catholic teaching – and she has taken on nuns (The Little Sisters of the Poor) who sued to protect their religious freedom…”
That papal smackdown is a fine indicator of how the Catholic Church really feels about the exclusion of a number of tenets of the faith in the democrats’ argument, and the idea that the Pope could be used as a prop for progressives.
In reality, faith is not a pick-and-choose lifestyle that can be molded into political power. This is something that Nancy Pelosi surely feels deeply in her heart of hearts, but chooses to repress in order to satisfy the sad and salacious liberal base to whom she panders. While her ultimate judgment is still forthcoming, there is certainly no harm in reminding the political puppet that her earthly presence hasn’t been the most virtuous as of late.
