Sean Hannity thinks that Donald Trump’s best choice for vice president is Newt Gingrich, a man whom Sean Hannity often speaks highly of on his radio and television shows.

Newt Gingrich served as the Republican Speaker of the House from 1995 to 1999. In 1994, he co-authored the “Contract with America,” a document that listed eight actions which the republicans vowed to take if they became the majority party – which they became following the 1994 elections.
In his interview with the former Speaker and 2012 presidential candidate, Sean Hannity said that if he were Donald Trump, he couldn’t think of a better person for the job of vice president than Gingrich. He said:
“You brought Republicans back to power. You were the last speaker to balance the budget. You are the last speaker to be transformative, in terms of doing big things in Washington, like welfare reform and maybe a few other things you’d care to mention. That, to me, naturally makes you a top contender for the VP…You’ve done it. Can you name anyone else that has more experience and has more success, in terms of a track record in D.C. than you?”
Gingrich – who’s endorsed Donald Trump for president – was flattered, and didn’t oppose the idea, but offered other options for Trump’s vice presidential pick:
“I suspect I’m old enough, and I’ve been around long enough that I sort of hold that particular title. But I look at a guy, for example, like Senator Tim Scott – very attractive, very intelligent senator from South Carolina. I look at Governor Brewer from Arizona. I think there are more folks out there than you might think who would be very effective as the vice presidential candidate. And this is ultimately Trump’s decision. He’s got to decide what’s he’s trying to accomplish in order to get this done.”
