While former President Barack Obama hid behind the working class facade that the democrats so often employ, his actions post-presidency have outed him as just another global elitist.
The democrats have long pretended to be “of the people”, reaching out to fringe American demographics in a dual pronged attack at our sensibilities. Not only does this imply that the left cares about the most minor of societal groups, it also provides them with small pockets of locked-up voters in coming elections. Whereas American conservatives are attempting to remedy large and unwieldy problems that face the entire nation, the democrats are simply amassing subservient constituents.
The truth of the matter is, like many things with the democrats, not as it seems. By examine two modern examples of your average democratic demagogue, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, we see independently wealthy and elitist individuals carrying themselves about with a stench of invincibility and self righteousness. Now, as Barack Obama moves toward the lucrative life of a shameless ex-President with a penchant for turning his presence into wealth, the democrats are hoping to distance themselves from the elitist behavior he is displaying on his tone-deaf victory lap.
“Since leaving office in late January, Obama has visited late actor Marlon Brando’s private island; the Four Seasons in Bali — where rooms cost upward of $2,000 per night; a Palm Springs estate; Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island; the exclusive Mid Pacific Country Club in Oahu; the 13th-century Borgo Finocchieto in Tuscany; and the Rising Sun, Hollywood studio mogul David Geffen’s private yacht.
“‘These are some of the most luxurious travel destinations in the world. Many of our clients spend tens of thousands of dollars or more to stay at these resorts, which cater to the most discriminating and demanding guests,’ said Kendra Thornton, travel expert and owner of luxury travel agency Royal Travel. ‘For example, Necker Island has a nightly price tag of $80,000. Anyone who stays at these properties does so because they want the best of the best.’
“’These trips are like the lifestyles of the rich and famous,’ said Democratic strategist Pat Caddell. The former adviser to ex-President Jimmy Carter believes that President Obama’s vacations are unprecedented, and a far cry from how Carter spent his first few months out of office.
“’I think the Bernie Sanders wing of the party, when they see President Obama, whom they instinctively want to defend being the corporatist president, I think it makes the base uneasy,’ said Caddell.”
Of course, this isn’t the extent of what Obama has done to unravel the blue-collar charade that the democrats are attempting to construct.
Even after Hillary Clinton received ample criticism for her ties to Wall Street, specifically in the form of her enormous paychecks for several speeches made to the financial elite, Barack Obama has left the Oval Office and turned to the exact same tactic. It’s highly embarrassing for the democrats, who have seen their future in Bernie Sanders and his manipulative branding of socialism. While Sanders’ own financial turmoil should have been a lesson to the gullible young leftists who worshipped at his feet, Obama’s actions are an even more powerful slap in the face.
So long. Thanks for all the votes. I’m going to join the 1% now.
