It seems that turnabout is fair play in Washington D.C. these days, as the federal government is preparing for a showdown with former President Barack Obama.
Obama’s disdain for President Trump is nothing new, nor is it at all surprising. The former President was fully committed to the idea of a Hillary Clinton presidency in hopes of continuing to build on his already flawed legacy. Now that Trump has taken over the Oval Office, we have learned quite a bit about Barack Obama’s dubious, behind the scenes actions as they pertain to illegal espionage of current president while he was still campaigning. Furthermore, Obama has reportedly installed a team of Washington insiders to keep tabs on Trump.
And, lest we forget about Obama’s wild claims that Russian interference in 2016 election is what handed Trump the White House, congress is asking Rex Tillerson to investigate similar claims being made about Obama’s influence on foreign elections.
“Congress is calling on Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to launch a full-scale investigation to determine whether the Obama administration meddled in foreign elections by sending U.S. taxpayer money to ‘extreme and sometimes violent’ leftists political groups.
“According to The Washington Free Beacon, a group of Republican senators wrote a letter that disclosed alleged conversations with foreign diplomats claiming that the former administration’s State Department sent taxpayer funds to organizations supported by George Soros and other leftist activists groups in Macedonia, Albania, Latin America, and Africa.
“The letter was reportedly authored by Republican Sens. Mike Lee (Utah), Jim Inhofe (Okla.), Thom Tillis (N.C.), Ted Cruz (Texas), David Perdue (Ga.), and Bill Cassidy (La.) and offered evidence and ‘credible reports’ suggesting political interference, of which the senators called ‘discouraging’ and ‘highly problematic.’”
Obama’s insistence on meddling in the Trump administration’s affairs could finally be coming back to haunt him, even in the midst of his continued campaign to delegitimize the 45th President of the United States.
