Kim Jong Un is not particularly savvy when it comes to his spray-and-pray method of threatening the entire globe from his diminutive country.
North Korea, who may still possess the world’s 4th largest army depending on how many have died from famine in the poverty-stricken nation, has had a bevy of issues attempting to launch simple ballistic missiles in recent weeks. Two tests in as many weeks have failed miserably within seconds of liftoff, leading many to believe that the launch controls were either hacked by outside sources, or the missiles themselves were just plain shoddy.
Then, there are the apparent preparations occurring at one of the hermit kingdom’s nuclear test sites. While this would normally be alarming, no nuclear test has been detected and satellite imagery has shown that the North Koreans have spent a great deal of time playing volleyball at the site. (No, that is not a joke).
Given the repeated failures of Kim Jong Un to truly scare the pants off of anyone, the real issue here is his persistent threats against the United States and her allies in Japan and South Korea. Now, however, the leadership in Pyongyang has taken their bravado a step further, and is targeting one of the United States’ most important and powerful allies.
“Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman hurt the ‘dignity of the supreme leadership’ of North Korea, state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Saturday. The comment was in reaction to Israeli remarks on how the Jewish State is affected by North Korean tension with the United States.
“In an interview with Hebrew news site Walla this week, the hawkish Liberman stated that North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un is a madman and that together with the leaders of Iran and Syria was part of an ‘insane and radical’ gang that was bent on undermining international stability.
“‘The reckless remarks of the Israeli defense minister are sordid and wicked behavior and grave challenge to the DPRK [North Korea],’ the North Korean statement read.
“The statement also claimed that Israel, while working with the US, was the Middle East’s only illegal owner of nuclear weapons.”
