Next Vermont Senate Race Could End Up Being Bernie Versus WHO?!

Obviously, we are living in a unique time in American political history, as a conservative populist uprising gave us unconventional President Donald Trump.

Trump rode into office on a steed made of pure American Dream.  His “America First” attitude was apparent from day one, and, after convincing some skeptical republicans that he was in no way attempting to pull the wool over their eyes, Donald Trump had the full power of the GOP behind him.

Combined, their forces were enough to defeat democratic darling Hillary Clinton in one of the most arduous and grueling presidential campaigns in modern history.

Now, almost as an homage to the tremendous feat that Donald Trump has accomplished as a private citizen with no political background, a number of unexpected candidates are popping up around the nation.  Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson of pro wrestling fame is one of them, and, apparently, Randy Quaid is another.

“The veteran actor tweeted a threat/warning Thursday claiming that reps from a superPAC have approached him about running against Bernie Sanders for his U.S. Senate seat next year. And a reality show pitch about that potentially wacky race is making its way around town. Public Spectacle Media is planning an unscripted series that would follow Quaid’s long-shot bid to become the junior senator from the Green Mountain State.

Quaid, who was famous for his roles in the National Lampoon franchise and science fiction blockbuster Independence Day, has fallen from grace in recent years after releasing bizarre and unseemly videos of himself and presumably his wife engaging in bizarre, possibly drug-fueled behavior.

Then again, this is a state that idolizes a democratic socialist, so I suppose anything is possible.
