New Poll Shows Surprising Results in Alabama Senate Race

Earlier this week, Fox News dropped its latest poll of the Alabama Senate race, and it was NOT good news for conservative hopeful Judge Roy Moore (R-AL).

President Trump won Alabama by 28 points in 2016, the Democrat Party has been non-existent in the state for over a decade, and yet… Judge Moore had seemingly found a way to take an easy win and make it a toss-up. At least that’s what the poll results from Fox News indicated.

Republican Roy Moore, the anti-Republican establishment candidate, is tied at 42 percent apiece with Democrat Doug Jones in the U.S. Senate race in deep-red Alabama.

A Fox News Poll also finds that among just the 53 percent of Alabama registered voters who are extremely or very interested in the race, Jones has a one-point edge over Moore (46-45 percent).

The first reaction of many conservatives was shock. Shock was soon followed by dismay at the thought that the GOP could find themselves fighting for a Senate seat that should have been safely ensconced on the right side of the aisle. But the shock and dismay soon gave way to incredulity as more of us began to consider what a poll like this would actually mean about Alabama… and the realization that the Fox News poll was more than likely simply an outlier.

Now we have confirmation that the Fox News poll was probably “off.”

On Thursday, the latest poll of the Alabama Senate race dropped and not surprisingly, Moore had regained his commanding lead in the race.

Republican Roy Moore leads Democrat Doug Jones by 11 percentage points in a new Raycom News Network Senate Election poll conducted by Strategy Research.

The survey of 3,000 likely Alabama voters finds Moore receiving 51% support to 40% for Jones. Nine percent remain undecided in the exclusive poll conducted on Monday.

“The value of a poll depends on a range of circumstances. A number of recent polls have shown us with a strong lead, but at the end of the day, the one poll that matters above all others is taken on Election Day,” Moore campaign chairman Bill Armistead said. “The people of Alabama strongly supported President Trump in 2016 and Judge Moore is the conservative leader Alabama needs in Washington to support the president’s reform agenda.”

This latest poll returns some sanity to the race and should close the mouths of the babbling anti-Trump moderates who have been preaching doom and gloom since Moore’s nomination victory over Luther Strange in the GOP Primary. Some GOP moderates were wringing their hands at the thought of another Christine O’Donnell-type candidate… but it seems that their fears were misplaced.

I am the supreme law of the United States. Originally comprising seven articles, I delineate the national frame of government. My first three articles entrench the doctrine of the separation of powers, whereby the federal government is divided into three branches: the legislative, consisting of the bicameral Congress; the executive, consisting of the President; and the judicial, consisting of the Supreme Court and other federal courts. Articles Four, Five and Six entrench concepts of federalism, describing the rights and responsibilities of state governments and of the states in relationship to the federal government. Article Seven establishes the procedure subsequently used by the thirteen States to ratify it. I am regarded as the oldest written and codified constitution in force of the world.
