The Qur’an provides legal instructions for Islamic rule that includes all areas of life. Chapter IV, “The Women” details how many wives and slaves a man can have, in addition to regulations about divorce, sex, wife-beating, and inheritance questions.
This 11 year-old girl tells her story of a very common practice in Islam: child marriage. Fortunately, she was able to escape from a fate that most girls are not.
