“Moderate” Western Muslims Defend Spousal Abuse and Form Sharia “Defense Force” to Police Community

For several years, we’ve been warning about the insidious spread of Islam throughout the Western world. Not that all Muslims are supportive of violent agendas but that the core teachings of Islam lead down some very dangerous paths.

One major example of this is unfolding in Australia where a group of Western Muslims are pushing an orthodox, yet severe, form of Islam onto the Australian culture. A recent video which was uploaded to Facebook, shows two Muslim explaining why it is okay for a husband to physically discipline his wife.

The video, which was shot during an all-women’s event in Sydney’s west and posted to Facebook by the women’s branch of Hizb Ut-Tahrir, was revealed by The Australian newspaper this morning.

It features two Muslim women explaining that according to their understanding of Islam, men can discipline their wives by “hitting” them with a small stick or twisted scarf so as not to cause pain.

“It’s very evident that this is symbolic in nature,” one of the women said.

The commentary may seem benign as the women go out of their way to explain that the beating should “not be painful” but the video was posted by a group whose leader recently was heard defending the practice of spousal abuse. “The video echoed recent comments by Australian Federation of Islamic Councils President Keysar Trad, who sparked controversy when he suggested an angry husband could beat his wife as a “last resort”. Mr Trad later backtracked on the comment and described it as a “slip up”.”

The difficulty with this version of Islam that allows for “light” hitting that doesn’t actually hurt… is that it’s not really practiced anywhere on the planet. Instead, what actually occurs in most of the Muslim world is far more severe.

Steven Crowder has gathered a few clips from YouTube that show what husbandly “discipline” usually looks like in Islam.

Be forewarned these clips are violent and very hard to watch/stomach. They are not for everyone’s consumption.

Crowder points out in his piece that the video of the two women defending spousal abuse was uploaded to Facebook and that Facebook never took the video down. It’s something to notice because Facebook (like Twitter) routinely removes content posted by conservatives for being “offensive” and yet, they find nothing problematic with a video defending wife-beating. Interesting, isn’t it?

While Australian Muslims are defending spousal abuse, American Muslims are busy forming “Sharia Defense Forces” to patrol their neighborhoods and ensure that Muslims are doing what they are supposed to be doing. In Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan, and other Muslim nations the men who make up these “defense forces” are usually given the authority to enforce sharia. Thankfully, here in America that isn’t yet the case… sadly, there are actually Muslims participating.

A man trying to impose what he calls “the civil part of the sharia law” in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood of Minneapolis has sparked anger among local residents and Muslim leaders.

Abdullah Rashid, 22, a Georgia native who moved to Cedar-Riverside last year, has been making the rounds in the Somali-dominated neighborhood, telling people not to drink, use drugs or interact with the opposite sex. If he sees Muslim women he believes are dressed inappropriately, he approaches them and suggests they should wear a jilbab, a long, flowing garment. And he says he’s recruiting others to join the effort…

In a recent interview, Rashid said he aims to turn Cedar-Riverside into a “sharia-controlled zone” where Muslims are learning about the proper practices of Islam and that “non-Muslims are asked to respect” it.

“People who don’t know me would say I’m a terrorist,” he said. “I’m someone who’s dedicated to Islam and trying to help the community all ways I can.”

The Muslim author of the article reporting on Rashid’s Muslim defense force, tries to explain that his local Muslim community stands against what he is doing and that is a good sign. However, it’s not as if Rashid’s behavior is either unheard of or even out of the mainstream. In fact, groups like the one Rashid is attempting to put together (usually called “sharia police” or “sharia patrols”) exist in every Muslim majority nation in the world (and some nations with a Muslim minority – see here and here) and as I said, they normally act with impunity to enforce sharia in their communities.

Let me repeat, our problem is not necessarily the people of Islam it is the philosophy of Islam. Islamic teaching is not compatible with the Western ideals of individual liberty and personal responsibility. Because of this incompatibility, Islam represents an existential threat to the “democratic” West… and that includes the USA.

RebelMedia did a story on the rise of Sharia Police in the West not long ago:

Constitution.com 🇺🇸

I am the supreme law of the United States. Originally comprising seven articles, I delineate the national frame of government. My first three articles entrench the doctrine of the separation of powers, whereby the federal government is divided into three branches: the legislative, consisting of the bicameral Congress; the executive, consisting of the President; and the judicial, consisting of the Supreme Court and other federal courts. Articles Four, Five and Six entrench concepts of federalism, describing the rights and responsibilities of state governments and of the states in relationship to the federal government. Article Seven establishes the procedure subsequently used by the thirteen States to ratify it. I am regarded as the oldest written and codified constitution in force of the world.
