After the Golden State Warriors embarrassed the overrated Lebron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers to win yet another NBA championship, the team turned political.
Like many celebrities and leftist agitators, the Warriors had seemingly joined the “resistance”, a term being used to identify anti-Trump liberals who are willing to oppose the President in every possible scenario, regardless of the outcome for Americans as a whole. Sure, it’s idiotic and completely childish, but we weren’t expecting the democrats to simply convert into civilized discourse in the course of Trump’s first 6 months as Commander in Chief.
As members of this loose-knit smattering of leftist lunatics, the Golden State Warriors were compelled to turn down the traditional invitation of the President to visit the White House, in hopes that their snubbing of Trump would appeal to their legion of California-based fans. Now, an athlete from a much different discipline has a message for the anti-Trump basketball team, and his words are nearly as powerful as his fists.
“Matt Mitrione celebrated his huge win at Bellator NYC over Fedor Emelianenko on Saturday night by ripping the NBA champion Golden State Warriors for not visiting the White House during his post-fight interview.
“‘Hey, President Trump, f–k the Golden State Warriors!’ Mitrione said. ‘I’m a real warrior. I’ll come to the White House. I’ll be good and honorable.’
“Steph Curry and Andre Iguodala have already said they don’t plan to visit the White House if the team is invited following their championship, according to Des Bieler of the Washington Post.
“’Somebody asked me about it a couple months ago, a hypothetical—if a championship were to happen, what would I do?’ Curry said on June 14. ‘I answered, “I wouldn’t go.” I still feel like that today.'”
Mittrione, a mixed martial arts personality, has not revealed whether or not he has been invited by the President to come visit.
The bratty move by the NBA champs follows a line of liberal mockery of Trump that dates back years. When Trump formally announced his presidential ambitions for the 2016 general election, the business mogul was very nearly laughed out of Trump Tower by the windbags in the mainstream media. Now, as we have all witnessed the outcome of that scenario, it seems that instead of eating crow as they rightfully should, the left is simply lashing out in more-absurd-by-the-minute ways.
