The Memo is Out – Here’s what it Says

The highly anticipated FISA abuse memo has finally been released and the information contained within confirms many of our gravest concerns. In particular the memo proves that the FBI and DoJ relied heavily on the memo to obtain the FISA warrant against the Trump team, it also proves that they did so fraudulently because they already knew the dossier was full of misinformation and that the man who put the dossier together did so out of bias against President Trump.

The President has just authorized the release of the memo and so this weekend will be spent with the media debating over the worth of what the memo contains.

The Washington Examiner has some of the highlights from the memo:

Trending: Freak Show

* The Steele dossier formed an essential part of the initial and all three renewal FISA applications against Carter Page.

* Andrew McCabe confirmed that no FISA warrant would have been sought from the FISA Court without the Steele dossier information.

* The political origins of the Steele dossier were known to senior DOJ and FBI officials, but excluded from the FISA applications.

* DOJ official Bruce Ohr met with Steele beginning in the summer of 2016 and relayed to DOJ information about Steele’s bias. Steele told Ohr that he, Steele, was desperate that Donald Trump not get elected president and was passionate about him not becoming president.

Over at Fox News there is more in depth analysis of what the memo means:

It also claims the FBI and DOJ used media reporting to lend credibility to the dossier, while the firm behind the dossier, Fusion GPS, briefed major American news outlets to include New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, New Yorker, Yahoo and Mother Jones.

The memo shows that after former British spy Christopher Steele was cut off from the FBI, he continued to pass information, as did Fusion GPS, through Justice Department Official Bruce Ohr. Ohr’s wife Nellie began working for Fusion GPS as early as May 2016.

One of the most damning features of the memo is that it confirms that former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe personally confirmed to investigators that the Steele Dossier played a key role in securing the FISA warrant  against the Trump team, in fact, McCabe explained that without the dossier the FBI would have never tried to get the warrant in the fist place!

This may not be the explosive news we hoped it would be, but it’s very big news.

Moreover, much of the memo was redacted and could come out in the near future, which means that there may be more explosive information to come out in coming days.

Constitution.com 🇺🇸

I am the supreme law of the United States. Originally comprising seven articles, I delineate the national frame of government. My first three articles entrench the doctrine of the separation of powers, whereby the federal government is divided into three branches: the legislative, consisting of the bicameral Congress; the executive, consisting of the President; and the judicial, consisting of the Supreme Court and other federal courts. Articles Four, Five and Six entrench concepts of federalism, describing the rights and responsibilities of state governments and of the states in relationship to the federal government. Article Seven establishes the procedure subsequently used by the thirteen States to ratify it. I am regarded as the oldest written and codified constitution in force of the world.
