Unless you live under a rock, you’ve heard about the FBI reopening the Clinton email investigation.
Here are the basics. The FBI is investigating Anthony Weiner, the estranged husband of top Clinton aide Huma Abedin. Weiner is accused of sexting a minor.
During the investigation, the FBI came across emails pertaining to the Clinton case which everyone thought was over after FBI Director, James Comey, closed the case on July 5.
Trending: Science is Settled
Unaware of the developments, Hillary Clinton, got off her plane in Iowa to find Weiner shoved in her face.
But on the brisk morning, the day after, I thought it might be a good idea to see how the Clinton media, the ones I mentioned in a previous article, Clinton News Network (CNN), American Broadcasters for Clinton (ABC), the Clinton Broadcast Station (CBS), and the National Broadcasters for Clinton (NBC) are handling the news.
The headlines, which you probably already surmised, are attempting to soften the blow!
Video blogger Mark Dice does a somewhat humorous take on a report by MSNBC journalist the she-male Rachel Maddow. For your listening and viewing pleasure, I’ve posted it below.
But how does MSNBC report on the scandal? First, by not calling it a scandal. Just so we are clear, let me define the word scandal — an action or event regarded as morally or legally wrong and causing general public outrage.
Now, what is interesting in the MSNBC headline is they use the word “scandal.” But not about Hillary. The headline reads, and I quote “Anthony Weiner scandal led to new Clinton probe.” If you click the article, you get a different title “Emails Related to Clinton Case Found in Anthony Weiner Investigation.”
The ABC headline is virtually the same as MSNBC “Anthony Weiner Probe Sparked Latest Clinton Email Investigation.”
Hey, at least they use the word investigation with reference to Hillary.
But if you click the link the title reads “Federal Probe of Anthony Weiner Prompted Review of Clinton Email Investigation, Sources Say.”
Interestingly, it isn’t even the top story on the ABCNews.com landing page. It is the second story.
So, just lie MSNBC, ABCNews.com is trying their best to soften the blow. According to the Clinton Media, it is all Anthony Weiner’s fault. It is his scandal; not hers!
CNN’s headline reads “Emails Roar Back.” Again, if you click the link you get “The bizarre day that blunted Clinton’s good mood.” Really?
Poor Hillary! She was flying high. As already noted, she was on her plane when the news broke. But now, because of Anthony Weiner, Hillary’s good mood was crushed. Awwww! How unfair.
But I saved the best for last! CBSNews.com has as their top story “Clinton on defense after political earthquake.” This title on their landing page, like most, doesn’t say much. If you click the link, you get the title article “Hillary Clinton campaign on defense after FBI reopens email case.”
Surely, the CBS title is more truthful than the rest, however, if you return to the landing page, right under the main article is another headline which reads “Trump changes tune on FBI with new look at Clinton case.” Please, note that the landing page is constantly updated and will change throughout the day. But allow me to make a few observations.
First, I heard Donald Trump’s comments yesterday. He was grateful that the FBI appeared to be correcting a wrong — i.e., one set of laws for us common folk and a different set of laws for the Clintons.
Trump wasn’t changing his tune. The FBI attempting to right a wrong from last summer, may be the quintessential definition of “too little too late.”
And second, it is telling that CBSNews.com took the continuing saga of the Hillary Clinton email scandal and turned it into an opportunity to slam Donald Trump.
What say you?
