When we were kids, it was enough that people were saying something. It did not matter to our immature, irrational minds that there was no proof for it to be true. “Jonny said you were a fag.” Well, Jonny must have said that, so Jonny needs a punch in the nose. The only problem, Jonny did not say you were a fag.
As we have matured and maybe taken a good whipping for flying off with no proof, we settled down. We learn to take the time to at least ask what happened. We search to find the truth; especially if we were on Jonny’s end of things a few times.
Unfortunately, some have not learned this lesson yet.
Sunday on MSNBC’s “AM Joy,” discussing her multiple calls to impeach President Donald Trump, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) said, “I think that it’s there, we just have to dig deeper, do the investigation and find it.”
REID: And you have gone all the way there, talking, using the I-word with Donald Trump about impeachment.WATERS: Yes.
REID: Do you stand by that and what would he be impeached for in your view?
WATERS: Yes, I have led in talking about impeachment. And some people say, well, it’s too early for that. It’s never too early if you understand how dangerous this man really is. I do believe that there is a connection between the Ukraine and Donald Trump and of course Russia. I think that he colluded with Putin during the election and that hacking and everything that took place. I think that it’s there, we just have to dig deeper, do the investigation and find it.
Notice that Maxine does not care that there is absolutely no evidence pointing to anything that she is claiming. She does not say that things point in this direction. She does not say that evidence is leading me to believe this happened. She is saying that she thinks this happened.
But, does her thinking something is true justify an investigation? She is basically trying to start an investigation because she is too out of touch with America to realize that Clinton could not have been a worse presidential candidate.
Is this the kind of thinking we want in our country? Do we want, “I don’t like the outcome, so I will dig till I find something,” kind of justice?
Thanks but no thanks.
