One of the central themes of the Obama administration was the non-enforcement or overturning of laws. They can’t stand to see an orderly government or a happy and content population.
Most likely at Obama’s orders, the Justice Department decided to stop enforcing the Defense of Marriage Act over a year before the US Supreme Court ruled to overturn some of the provisions of the act.
Whenever any state passed voter ID laws to help protect against voter fraud, Obama’s Justice Department ran screaming to the courts that the laws were unfair and discriminatory. One after another they stopped states from enacting their voter ID laws. If I were a minority, I would have been extremely embarrassed by then Attorney General Eric Holder’s allegations that voter ID laws discriminate against blacks, Hispanics and the poor. The way he presented it, you would think these people incapable of obtaining any kind of official identification that would allow them to vote. At times, Holder made it sound like some of them were just not competent enough to obtain the proper identification, ignoring the fact that most of the people he was referring to have to obtain some kind of formal identification in order to apply for and receive all of the government assistance they receive. The same poor people that Holder pointed to already have identifications because they are poor and need help.
When the Obama administration refused to enforce some of the federal immigration laws, some states took action to pass their own immigration laws to protect their people and their budgets. The Obama administration instantly challenged the state immigration laws. It didn’t matter that the federal government refused to do its job, but they could not stand to see any state enforce the laws themselves.
Liberals were happy under 8 years of Obama rule that failed to enforce so many law and openly break others themselves. Even though it’s been reported that the Obama administration deported around 3 million illegal aliens, they blatantly failed to deport millions of others.
The Obama administration said that they would only deport dangerous illegals or those who were convicted of felonies, but they didn’t enforce those regulations either. Instead, the federal government turned tens of thousands of illegals convicted of felonies back out onto the streets of America. Instead of keeping them in jail or deporting them, they chose to defy even their own law and set many of them free.
In 2014, it was reported:
“ICE released 36,007 illegal aliens that had a total of 87,818 criminal convictions, including: were 15,635 cases of drunken driving, 9,187 drug infractions, 426 sexual assaults, 303 kidnappings, 193 homicides, 1,317 domestic violence convictions and 1,075 aggravated assaults.”
Another report from 2014 claimed:
Judicial Watch reports:
“The Obama administration is refusing to divulge the names of the released criminals, which prevents law enforcement from protecting the public or notifying victims. Local authorities in Arizona, such as Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, have tried unsuccessfully to obtain information about this and other criminal alien releases by the Obama administration.”
“In 2014, a Judicial Watch lawsuit forced the release of 76 pages of DHS documents revealing that, as of April 26, 2014, the Obama administration had released 165,900 convicted criminal aliens throughout the United States, including many convicted of such violent crimes as homicide, sexual assault, kidnapping, and aggravated assault. The reports we had at that time also showed that ICE had released another 30,000 in the most recent fiscal year, which brought the grand total of known criminals released by the Obama administration to 195,900. That number – and the attendant threat to the safety of you and every other American – is clearly on the rise.”
Now, liberals are all up in arms over President Trump’s plans to finally enforce federal immigration laws that Obama refused to enforce. They are accusing him of all kinds of things, including being racist, a hater of minorities and Hispanics and worse. Trump has not created any new immigration laws, rather he’s just trying to enforce the ones that are already in place, which is the sworn duty of any President. That’s probably what grates against liberals more than anything else is that Trump is just trying to do the lawful thing he swore to do and liberal just can’t stand to see anyone in authority do the right thing and uphold the law.
