When news of Michael Flynn’s plea deal reached the blog-o-sphere this week, you could practically smell the liberal feeding frenzy that was kicked off.
The left side of American politics had completely lost their minds in excitement, believing that any deal sought by Special Counsel Robert Mueller must mean that President Trump was mere moments away from being dragged away in handcuffs.
Of course, we know now that this is nowhere near an accurate depiction of the events that took place this week, as Flynn’s guilty plea to a mere process crime could very well be all that Mueller could get out of the ex-Trump adviser. Given the current, realistic view of the circumstances, it’s likely that Flynn won’t even face any jail time – a pretty sweet deal for a guy who, according the hysterical liberal media, is the lynchpin holding this whole Russia conspiracy theory together.
The absurdity and enthusiasm was so misguided that one ABC News personality has been suspended for his wildly inaccurate reporting on the subject.
“ABC News announced Saturday that Chief Investigative Correspondent Brian Ross had been suspended for four weeks without pay over a botched ‘exclusive’ about former national security adviser Michael Flynn.
“Ross’ suspension is effective immediately. ABC News spokeswoman Heather Riley would not comment on whether anyone else had been suspended in connection with the error.
“During a live ‘special report’ Friday morning, Ross reported that Flynn would testify that Donald Trump had ordered him to make contact with Russians about foreign policy while Trump was still a candidate. The report raised the specter of Trump’s impeachment and sent the stock market plummeting.
“Later in the day, ABC News — part of the reliably liberal Disney ABC Television Network — issued a ‘clarification’ to Ross’s report, saying that Trump’s alleged directive came after he’d been elected president. That’s a key distinction in any investigation of Russian actions during the campaign. Ross himself appeared on ‘World News Tonight’ several hours after the initial report to clarify his error.
“In a statement, ABC News said Ross’ report ‘had not been fully vetted through our editorial standards process.'”
Of course, for the left, the headline must always lead and bleed when it comes to covering our elected President.
The liberal media has been openly advocating for the demise of Donald Trump over the course of the last year-plus, with a number of bizarre and inappropriate pieces of propaganda floating about the ether. While it comes as no surprise that someone at ABC has finally taken a fall for their biased reporting, there are still a number of even more egregious fabrications spreading throughout the media landscape that need to be purged as well.
