Americans are wholly conservative, (as evidenced by their disdain for the democrats in 2016), but there are outposts of leftism still thriving in the dark corners of our wonderful country.
One such barren wasteland of tradition is California; a state so ruthlessly radical that they are still considering seceding from America as a knee jerk reaction to an election that occurred 9 months ago. The ultraliberal west coast haven for the radical left has been inundated this year with Free Speech riots in Berkeley and a mass exodus to more conservative locales, but that hasn’t stopped them from making headlines with their inappropriate progressiveness.
Now, in an effort to shock and awe their way into the national spotlight, lawmakers in La La Land are proposing a ban on cars that run on gasoline to take effect by 2040.
“When the Legislature returns in January, Assemblyman Phil Ting plans to introduce a bill that would ban the sale of new cars powered by internal-combustion engines after 2040. The San Francisco Democrat said it’s essential to get California drivers into an electric fleet if the state is going to meet its greenhouse gas reduction targets, since the transportation sector accounts for more than a third of all emissions.
“’The market is moving this way. The entire world is moving this way,’ Ting said. ‘At some point you need to set a goal and put a line in the sand.’
“California already committed five years ago to putting 1.5 million ‘zero-emission vehicles,’ such as electric cars and plug-in hybrids, on the road by 2025. By that time, the state wants these cleaner models to account for 15 percent of all new car sales.”A great deal of the liberal hullabaloo surrounding electric vehicles comes from faulty faux-scientific “facts” regarding climate change and the global warming hoax.
