The White House released Melania Trump’s official portrait as first lady on Monday, and it took about a nanosecond for the liberal wastrels on Twitter to crawl out of their dung heaps and start attacking her.
As expected, the first lady, who is a former model, looks absolutely stunning.
Apparently, that’s a huge problem for the feminazis on the Left and their girly men.
“I Miss Michelle,” tweeted Jenifer Green. “This look is so unrealistic to the average woman. Depressing and gross.”
“Thank goodness for botox and Photoshop,” wrote Linda Freedman.
Gary from Liverpool had his claws out, too. “Former prostitute,” he tweeted.
Even Us Weekly snorted that the portrait was “over-the-top glam.”
The Left seems to have plenty of bile to aim at a woman whose controversies seem to revolve around being married to the president and being an attentive mom to the Trumps’ son Barron.
In a statement accompanying the photo’s release, Melania said, “I am honored to serve in the role of first lady, and look forward to working on behalf of the American people over the coming years.”
It’s a complete one-eighty from the previous first lady, who practically choked on her own words when she said, “For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country.”
Some liberals couldn’t resist jumping all over Melania for not moving into the White House, a decision made by the family in order to allow Barron to finish out his school year before moving. And, of course, there was the requisite moaning about the cost of security at Trump Tower (to protect the first lady from all the liberals trying to trash the place), from people who never batted an eye at multimillion-dollar vacations by Michelle Obama and her daughters.
It all sounds like an awful lot of jealousy going around the Left. But that’s probably not surprising when you remember that liberals face slim pickings when it comes to role models of femininity, what with the likes of Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Elizabeth Warren and (shudder) Maxine Waters.
Melania may be somewhat reclusive, but she still makes a better role model than any of the Left’s harridans. She spoke recently at the International Women of Courage Awards, which honored many women who have championed women’s rights in countries where there is an actual struggle for women to just be treated with dignity and respect, places like Syria, Iraq, Vietnam and Yemen.
Notably, there was no weeping about the imaginary wage gap or the right to kill an unborn child. These were real women overcoming real challenges, like the tyranny of shariah law, forced child marriages and genital mutilation.
“It is our duty to shine a light on the victory of each woman,” Melania told her audience. “… Wherever women are diminished, the entire world is diminished.”
Notably, a lot of that diminishing spirit is coming from the hunnish Left and its angry feminists.
