Lack of Diverse Movie Roles Blamed for People Joining ISIS

Diversity! Diversity! Diversity!

It seems that everywhere one turns these days, someone is talking about diversity or lack of diversity, but what does it all really mean?

In some ways, pushing diversity really means that the person or group is seeking preferential treatment for their particular group or type of people. Someone labeled it as a form of ‘selective allowable discrimination’.

Over the past few years, students at some colleges and universities have protested and demanded more be done for diversity. In many cases, they are demanding that the schools start discriminating against majority people and give preferential treatment to minorities. They are demanding in the name of diversity that the schools accept more minority students and hire more minority professors. In some of these cases, students are demanding that the schools discriminate against conservative guest speakers in favor of bringing in more liberal and activist speakers.

Remember the Academy Awards a year ago, when so many blacks went ballistic because there were no blacks nominated for the movie industry’s top awards? They were screaming and crying all in the name of diversity. Black activists called for boycotts against many of the top movies nominated and receiving Oscars.

So, what happened this year? There was an abundance of ethnically diverse films, actors, actresses nominated with a number of them winning awards that could have or should have gone to more deserving movies, actors and actresses.

When Barack Obama filled his top administration positions, he spoke about diversity and appointed a number of blacks, Hispanics and women. If you paid any attention to the events Obama hosted at the White House they were largely ethnic, all in the name of diversity.

Now, a lack of diversity is being touted as a possible reason for people to join ISIS.

Rizwan (Riz) Ahmed told the British Parliament:

“If we fail to represent, we are in danger of losing people to extremism.”

“If we don’t step up and tell a representative story. .. we are going to start losing British teenagers to the story that the next chapter in their lives is written with ISIS in Syria. We are going to see the murder of more [members of Parliament] like Jo Cox because we’ve been mis-sold a story that is so narrow about who we are and who we should be.”

“We end up going to America to find work. I meet with producers and directors here, and they say ‘we don’t have anything for you, all our stories are set in Cornwall in the 1600s.”

Understand that Ahmed is a Muslim who wants more Muslims in movies, television, parliament and everywhere. While he’s not saying it outright, he is pushing Islam and claiming that the lack of Islamic movies, actors, actresses and politicians will be sufficient reason to push young people to join ISIS or other extreme Islamic terrorist groups.

That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Following his logic, the lack of Russians in the movie industry should be enough of a motive to drive young people to join the Russian mafia.

It just goes to show how wacked out and extreme so many activists are with their obsessions and desire to impose their selective allowable discrimination on everyone else.
