Once again the left is purposely distorting reality to make science fit their agenda. First, mechanical engineer Bill Nye became the unofficial spokesman for Global Warming and Evolution. Now, journalist Katie Couric is a gender science specialist.
Couric recently visited the The Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote her new National Geographic documentary, Gender Revolution. She claims it challenges “gender identity in this country.”
While there, she talked about the biology of gender. She contends that just because you tell a child they are a certain gender doesn’t mean they feel that’s who they are. DeGeneres, an admitted gay women, agreed adding, “It doesn’t correlate with what’s in your head.”
According to Couric, “In the later stages of development, it’s when your brain is wired, and sometimes a surge of testosterone can make… a female fetus feel as if that baby is male or that person is male, and the opposite, if there’s not enough testosterone.”
She added, “But it’s really about biology and people don’t realize that.”
Let’s examine what Couric is really saying here. In her excitement to push gender confusion in an fetus, a pro-abortion activist just admitting that a baby is human. First, Couric acknowledged a fetus can be female. Then she continued to say a baby can “feel” it is male. The abortion argument is fetuses are just blobs of tissue. They don’t have feelings or identities. So which is it, Katie?
Couric claims this phenomenon occurs later, when the brain is “wired”. However, according to Modern Mom, three parts of the brain develop by week three. It begins functioning by week four. “All of the major structures of the brain are in place and functioning,” by the 13th week, or the second trimester. Abortion activists believe the fetus is still not human by the second trimester. Yet, the brain is already working and being “wired”.
An LGBT sympathizer, Couric found a way to allege gender confusion occurs in the womb. She informed the audience we all start out as a female. Then “a surge of testosterone in the first trimester creates different genitals.” If this process is disrupted at all, Couric claims the baby can develop “ambiguous genitalia or sex characteristics of both… male and female,” or intersex. Even though earlier she claimed the “surge of testosterone” happens in later development.
Couric continues, proclaiming these babies supply a “great foundation to talk about where gender comes from.” More over, gender is “really a deeply biological thing,” and should not be “imposed” on children.
I agree. Let’s talk about where gender comes from.
The moment a sperm fertilizes an egg, biology determines the gender. The sperm dictates gender depending on whether it contains an X chromosome or a Y. At the proper time, around the 9th week, the sex chromosome coordinates the direction of the development. At least that’s what I learned in High School.
Upon fertilization, the code is written. All embryos begin the same way. Yet when the chromosomes, not a “burst of testosterone,” start doing their work, they continue developing into a female or a male. It really is a deeply biological thing.
Furthermore, Couric’s argument destroys the left’s “it’s a woman’s body” abortion narrative. Clearly, a fetus affected by testosterone surges resulting in biological changes and “feelings” is a completely separate entity from its mother. If so, wouldn’t they also feel doctors ripping them apart during an abortion, too?
Couric referred to herself as a cisgender, or someone who identifies with the gender they were born with. When I was growing up, we called this normal. But not in today’s world, where the left demands chaos, confusion, and distraction in every aspect of our lives.
If the LGBT community embraces this new theory, then what lie do they have to come up with to now cover that they just admitted the fetus has life? That is the problem with distorting facts, reality, and science to fit an agenda. You keep having to lie to cover your lies.
I want to thank Katie Couric for finally admitting what pro-life advocates have said for years. Acknowledging a living, breathing, separate human being exists inside a pregnant woman is huge. Let’s now work together to keep them all alive, ok?
But that’s just my 2 cents.
