Judge Gorsuch Interrupts His Supreme Court Hearing to Hug and Kiss His Wife

Chalk this up as another reason to love Judge Neil Gorsuch and to hope that our legislature does the right thing and confirms this man as our next Associate Justice of the Supreme Court.

On Monday he faced intense pressure as he sat through his first Senate Judiciary Committee meeting, in the hopes of becoming our next Supreme Court Justice. Even with all of the pressure bearing down on him, Judge Gorsuch remembered to take time out to thank his wife for all that she had done to make sure he had a chance to join the Supreme Court. In an emotional and heartfelt moment he profusely thanked her for all she had done and all she had sacrificed, and then the two shared a long hug and kiss before the packed Senate chamber.

“Mr. Chairman, I could not even attempt to do this without Louise my wife of over 20 years. The sacrifices she has mad and her open and giving heart that leave me in awe. I love you so much.”

I am the supreme law of the United States. Originally comprising seven articles, I delineate the national frame of government. My first three articles entrench the doctrine of the separation of powers, whereby the federal government is divided into three branches: the legislative, consisting of the bicameral Congress; the executive, consisting of the President; and the judicial, consisting of the Supreme Court and other federal courts. Articles Four, Five and Six entrench concepts of federalism, describing the rights and responsibilities of state governments and of the states in relationship to the federal government. Article Seven establishes the procedure subsequently used by the thirteen States to ratify it. I am regarded as the oldest written and codified constitution in force of the world.
