As the political clashes in our country continue to escalate, corporations around the nation are exercising a great deal of extra caution as to who they hire to promote their products.
For instance, you don’t see Colin Kaepernick hawking deodorant or razors the way that other former NFL quarterbacks do. The reason being, Kaepernick is a political liability due to his outrageous and offensive liberal beliefs. The NFL is crumbling due to his miscalculated actions, and the unemployed athlete has been blackballed by much of American society.
Now, Jim Beam is being retroactively affected by a similar, political issue involving someone whom they had previously hired as a spokesperson: Mila Kunis.
Kunis, a staunch liberal, recently admitted to a political stunt involving Vice President Mike Pence that many conservatives felt was in poor taste. This led many drinkers of Jim Beam, a brand for which Kunis works as a spokeswoman, to look elsewhere whilst imbibing.
Trending: Science is Settled
“The decision of actress Mila Kunis to make monthly donations to abortion business Planned Parenthood in pro-life Vice President Mike Pence’s name has generated a call for a boycott of Jim Beam on Twitter.
“Jim Beam global brand spokesperson Kunis told Conan O’Brien Thursday that she donates to Planned Parenthood in Pence’s name to protest his pro-life policies. O’Brien asked Kunis to explain her ‘prank:’
“‘I apologize if I’m offending anybody. It’s not so much a prank as much as I disagreed with some of the stuff that Pence was doing and was trying to do. And so as a reminder that there are women out there in the world that may or may not agree with his platform, I put him on a list of recurring donations that are made in his name to Planned Parenthood.’
“‘Every month, to his office, he gets a little letter that says like, “An anonymous donation has been made in your name.” I don’t look at it as a prank, this is like, I strongly disagree, and this is my little way of doing it. It’s a peaceful protest.'”
The funding of Planned Parenthood is an extremely serious issue for a number of Americans, and Mila Kunis using her celebrity to promote the liberal position regarding the business is despicable.
Furthermore, to involve Vice President Pence in her smug and arrogant publicity stunt on a 4th rate talk show is a classless move by someone who is supposedly believable as a spokeswoman for a fine whiskey brand.
