Democrat Hillary Clinton continues to accuse Republican Donald Trump of racism for wanting to build a wall. Apparently Hillary forgot about the 325-mile “fence” her husband built in 1993 explicitly to keep out illegals. Not only did she strongly support Bill’s wall, as Senator she voted to extend funding to continue the wall.
This is no surprise as Democrats have always rewritten history to cover up their own bigotry, prejudice and hypocrisy.
Racism has infected the Democrat Party from it’s beginning. President Andrew Jackson, the Father of the Democrat Party, allowed Georgia to seize millions of acres of Cherokee Indian land in violation of a Supreme Court Ruling. His administration oversaw the Trail of Tears that resulted in 4,000 Native American deaths.
During the 1800’s, women’s suffrage advocates and abolitionists worked hand in hand to further their causes. Virtually all of them, including Susan B. Anthony, Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglas, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Abraham Lincoln proudly did so as Republicans. Abolitionists started the Republican Party for the very purpose of ending slavery and promoting equal rights.
During the Reconstruction Era, America made amazing progress in equality for blacks. These advancements occurred despite Democrats, not because of them.
Democrats overwhelmingly opposed legislation that ended slavery (13th Amendment), insured blacks equal protection under the law (14th Amendment), and gave black males the right to vote (15th Amendment). Republicans passed these Amendments almost exclusively. Not one Democrat, Northern or Southern, voted for the 14th Amendment. Republicans gave blacks citizenship with the Civil Rights Act of 1866 by overriding Democrat President Andrew Johnson’s veto. Democrats formed the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) that same year.
“Founded in 1866 as a Tennessee social club, the Ku Klux Klan spread into nearly every Southern state, launching a ‘reign of terror‘ against Republican Party leaders, black and white. In effect, the Klan was a military force serving the interests of the Democratic Party, the planter class, and all those who desired the restoration of white supremacy.” Dr. Eric Foner, A Short History of Reconstruction
The KKK quickly became known as the “Military/Terrorist Arm of the Democrat Party.” They advanced Southern Democrat “Black Code” and “Jim Crow” laws. Laws denied blacks gun ownership, allowing the KKK freedom to harass, victimize and lynch innocent blacks as well as Republicans.
Johnson boldly declared, “This is a country for white men, and by God, as long as I am President, it shall be a government of white men.” House Republicans fed up with his obstructing bigotry impeached him. He survived conviction in the Senate by one vote. “This is a white man’s country: Let white men rule,” was the Democrat Party’s national campaign theme later that year.
Despite Democrat objection, thirteen blacks became members of Congress during Reconstruction. Over 600 blacks served in state legislatures with many others holding local offices. Most, if not all, served as Republicans.
Democrats who eventually supported women’s suffrage usually did so out of spite, not agreement. They abhorred the idea of black males having a right that white women didn’t.
This is just the beginning of the Democrat Party’s ardent racism. The movement really progressed under Democrat President Woodrow Wilson, the Father of Progressivism.
Federal workplaces were desegregated and the KKK was virtually dead when Wilson took office. He won the presidency by promising blacks even more rights and equality.
Once in office he reversed the progress already made by Republicans. He vigorously fought legislation promoting black equality. The Postmaster General, Treasury and Navy again segregated government offices, restrooms, and cafeterias. Governmental departments terminated black employees. Those fortunate enough to keep their jobs had a glass ceiling placed over their heads. Wilson claimed this was for the benefit of blacks. He was so Progressive he progressed his way back to 1862.
One of Wilson’s proudest moments was choosing Birth of a Nation as the first motion picture screened in the White House. Adapted from Thomas Dixon’s book, The Clansman, it characterized blacks as violent and uncivilized. Blacks were portrayed as drunks, rapists, and barbaric. White Southerners were depicted as defenseless against these vicious, savage beasts. The “white knights” riding in to save the day was the KKK.
Birth of a Nation even included quotes from Wilson’s own book, History of the American People.
One frame read: “The result. The Ku Klux Klan, the organization that saved the South from the anarchy of black rule, but not without the shedding of more blood than at Gettysburg, according to Judge Tourgee of the carpet-baggers.”
White mobs left movie theaters protesting and rioting across the nation. Innocent blacks were targeted, with at least one murder occurring. KKK membership exploded to 6 million within ten years.
Wilson also supported the popular Progressive eugenics movement championed by Margaret Sanger. Their goal was to eliminate the handicapped, sterilize the imperfect and terminate the “human weeds,” i.e. blacks and minorities, preventing the perfect human race.
The American Progressive eugenics movement is directly connected to Hitler’s Aryan race campaign. Support for eugenics declined after World War II, but it did not die. Between 1907 and 1963, 64,000 were forcibly, but legally, sterilized in America. Over 3,400 pure Native Americans were sterilized in the early 1970’s.
Sanger refocused to “family planning” to eliminate undesirables. The result was Planned Parenthood, which has murdered 7 million babies alone. Since Roe vs. Wade, 59 million babies have been terminated overall with the highest percentage being black.
Progressive Democrat President Franklin D. Roosevelt gathered up all American-Japanese during World War II and put them in internment camps. The conditions were horrible, just barely better than Hitler’s death camps.
Democrat President Lyndon B. Johnson is heralded for signing Civil Rights legislation. History books exclude the bill’s higher Republican support over Democrat. They also ignore Johnson’s stanch opposition to the very same Civil Rights law supported by Republican President Dwight D. Eisenhower. As Senate Majority Leader, Johnson prevented its passage for years. The following statement reveals his change of heart:
“These Negroes, they’re getting pretty uppity these days and that’s a problem for us since they’ve got something now they never had before, the political pull to back up their uppityness. Now we’ve got to do something about this, we’ve got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference.” His “Great Society” programs have suppressed the black population ever since.
Hillary stated a year ago, “I’m a Progressive, but I’m a Progressive that likes to get things done.”
Progressives are actually very good at getting things done. Fellow Progressive President Barack Obama gave us Obamacare, which is Hillary’s 1993 failed socialized Health Care Bill. His administration has implemented over 23,000 new regulations that are destroying businesses and our economy. Obama’s policies have forced millions onto government assistance. As a result, the middle class is evaporating, widening the gap between the rich and the poor at an alarming rate.
Liberal Progressive Democrats always label their opponent as racist. History proves it is the Democrat Party that exiled Native Americans, enslaved Negros, embraced the KKK, passed Jim Crow laws, and adamantly fought Civil Rights legislation until they were able to use it to their advantage.
So before you believe that crooked, little finger that Hillary Clinton and fellow Democrat Progressives point at Republicans, realize that three more fingers are pointing right back at them.
But that’s just my two cents.
