There are no shortage of bad ideas circulating the internet, particularly when it comes to the recent tragedy in Las Vegas.
It took less than 12 hours for failed democratic candidate Hillary Clinton to predictably react with a new push for gun control. Via Twitter, Clinton somehow insinuated that a “silencer” would have made Stephen Paddock nearly undetectable from his 32nd floor perch at Mandalay Bay, and used that assertion to attack the NRA’s work to legalize the devices. For the record, a “silencer” doesn’t exist; Clinton was speaking about “suppressors”, which would have only adjusted the noise level by a few decibels. Furthermore, suppressors on illegally modified automatic rifles have a tendency to melt from the extreme heat of the continued projectiles.
Of course, any political chicanery by Clinton will be echoed 100-fold by her legion of horrendously undereducated and sheepish followers, one of whom happens to be HBO television “star” Lena Dunham.
Trending: Science is Settled
“The actress and producer was just one of several Hollywood celebrities to respond on social media Monday, hours after suspected gunman Stephen Paddock, 64, fired what was reported to be an automatic weapon from his 32nd floor hotel room at concertgoers attending the Route 91 Harvest country music festival near the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip, leaving at least 59 people dead and more than 500 injured. Paddock was reported to have killed himself before police could apprehend him.”
Dunham, who unfortunately reneged on her promise to move out of the country should Donald Trump be elected President, somehow believes that this tragedy is tied to “race and gender”.
This unfounded and unethical statement by a television actress already prone to hysteria is as irresponsible and disrespectful as it gets. Dunham is dishonoring the victims and their families with her utter falsehoods, less than two days after the attack took place.
Furthermore, the raunchy starlet is exploiting the incident for her own personal gain. Her self-claimed politicizing of this event on social media achieves nothing outside of reiterating her phony image as some sort of social justice warrior.
