Hillary Clinton has echoed many of the green energy policies that have failed under the Obama regime. Obama promised to create 5 million green energy jobs but the results of his seven years in office have actually resulted in the loss of thousands of jobs at a cost of billions of taxpayer dollars. Hillary has already stated that she wants to continue Obama’s war on coal and fossil fuels and promote green renewable energy.
Remember a few years back when Barack Obama said he would increase the cost of electricity? If he and Hillary get their way, that increase could be as much as triple our current rates as seen by what’s happening in Australia.
The state of South Australia, with the largest city bring Adelaide on the southern coast, hailed its green energy push a couple of months ago when the last coal burning power plant shut down. South Australia was then totally dependent upon green energy production, mostly wind and solar.
However, after only a month of green energy, the residents and businesses in South Australia are finding that the new green energy is not always reliable and it costs a lot more.
Some large industries have seen the cost of electricity soar to $229 per megawatt hour, three times as much as they were paying a year ago when most of the electricity was provided by coal burning power plants. Most of the price increase has been passed on to larger industries, but home owners have already seen 6% to 12% increases in the cost of electricity in the first month of total green electricity.
Additionally, larger industries have found their electricity supply has been intermittent and highly unreliable. In many industries, that can be devastating when it continually interrupts the manufacturing process, often ruining the process of what they are manufacturing.
Take for example a company that manufactures computer chips. It’s a highly technical and dangerous process with some steps using highly dangerous chemicals that must be controlled and confined. Electrical interruptions would ruin the process of making the computer chips as well as place workers in mortal danger of exposure to the highly toxic chemicals.
Government officials in South Australia have blamed much of the electrical problems on a lack of wind, a cold spell that caused an increase in demand from consumers and several other factors.
Now imagine what will happen here in the US if Hillary is elected and she continues the war on coal and push for green energy? Undoubtedly, Americans will see sporadic brown-outs and black-outs in their electricity as well as huge increases in their electric bills. We could join South Australia and see our electrical rates triple under Hillary’s energy policies.
How many American businesses and manufactures can afford to see their cost of electricity rates triple? How many workers will they be forced to lay off to counter the increase electrical costs? How many will have problems completing their manufacturing processes if their electricity is unreliable and intermittent like it is in South Australia?
Australia has no shortage of coal and natural gas and is one of the largest exporters of the two in the world. America really doesn’t have a shortage of coal or natural gas either, but liberal Democrats like Obama and Clinton want to destroy the coal and natural gas industry in America and make us like South Australia.
If anything, we need to learn from what’s happening in South Australia rather than emulate them.
