When Hillary Clinton blames “fake news,” she is really asking for censorship of all Wikileaks, the alternative media, and conservative news.

“The epidemic of malicious fake news and false propaganda that flooded social media over the past year — it’s now clear the so-called fake news can have real-world consequences,” Clinton said during a speech on Capitol Hill.

She is referring to the current fantasy that Liberals in the media are telling one another that Donald Trump won the election due to fake news. To add a conspiratorialist twist to the delusion, this fake news is supposed to be orchestrated by Russia. The Washington Post even passed on anonymous accusations against Russia without any evidence. Some in the Liberal media found it embarrassing.

“Lives are at risk — lives of ordinary people just trying to go about their days, to do their jobs, contribute to their communities.”

“It’s a danger that must be addressed and addressed quickly,” she said.

Ostensibly the danger Hillary was talking about had to do with the #Pizzagate speculations. A man was arrested for carrying a gun into a Washington, DC, pizza restaurant.

But what part of that was caused by “fake news”? No one said they found direct proof of pedophilia and child trafficking. Instead, they claimed that Wikileaks found a code being used by John Podesta and others in the emails. The references to pizza, hot dogs, walnuts, etc, resembled coded discussions that the FBI has determined is sometimes used by pedophiles.

Now that may all be nonsense, and the Podestas’ love of perverse art and occult rituals may just be coincidental. Perverse artwork involving images of children doesn’t prove someone is guilty of perverse crimes using children.

But it is First Amendment-protected speech to speculate about what is meant if language seems coded. There are already laws on the books forbidding trespass and using firearms. According to Hillary Clinton, that’s not good enough. We must also forbid people from talking about what might be going on in conversations that don’t make sense.

In other words, Hillary Clinton really doesn’t believe in the right to free speech. She was openly demanding that the government suppress it. The demolition of the First Amendment is a high priority for her.

Thank God she lost!

But she continues to campaign as if she can get what she wants. Are there some Republicans who agree with her agenda and will try to pass some laws?

I hope not.

By blaming fake news, Hillary relieves herself of any need to engage in self-criticism. Harry Reid has said similar things. As one journalist wrote,

To hear Reid tell it, the party’s electoral collapse wasn’t a result of poor messaging or even a bad candidate. It stemmed from looser campaign finance rules, FBI Director James Comey and the influence of a few powerful individuals — namely the Koch brothers, his long-running nemeses. The outgoing Senate minority leader is unapologetic on behalf of his party, and remains resolute that Democrats don’t need to chart a new political course after their 2016 debacle.

“They have Trump, I understand that. But I don’t think the Democratic Party is in that big of trouble,” Reid said in a half-hour interview with Politico on Wednesday, one day before he’ll deliver his farewell address. “I mean, if Comey kept his mouth shut, we would have picked up a couple more Senate seats and we probably would have elected Hillary.”

Whether it’s fake news or looser campaign finance rules, the Democrats blame the First Amendment and want to “fix” it.
