Former CNN Personality and self-proclaimed D-list actress Kathy Griffin has been visited by the Secret Service, according to reports.
The hours-long interview with the President’ police service was necessary after Griffin, in a pathetic bid for attention, photographed herself holding a photorealistic recreation of President Donald Trump’s severed head. The photo shoot was meant to impress liberals with its likeness to a radical Islamic beheading, but instead drew ire from a massive swath of America on both sides of the aisle. The photos, which normalized the idea of assassinating the President, were released just days before Bernie Sanders campaign volunteer and liberal activist James T. Hodgkinson attempted to murder several republican congressmen who were practicing for a charity baseball game – an act that many feel was the beginning of a New Civil War.
Now, Griffin has had her time in the hot seat.
“Griffin’s attorney contends that the actress was just exercising her constitutional rights.
“’She basically exercised her First Amendment rights to tell a joke,’ Dmitry Gorin, a criminal defense attorney representing Griffin said. ‘When you look at everything in the media, all the times entertainers make videos or express themselves in other ways, you’ve never seen an entertainer, let alone a comedian, be subject to a criminal investigation.'”
While the First Amendment certainly does protect our right to Free Speech, Griffin’s actions could very, very easily be construed as a threat against the President, particularly given the has-been comedienne’s long history of inflammatory and threatening statements toward Trump, and her affiliation with the fake news aficionados over at CNN who have been feuding with the President in a lame bid to boost rating.
Griffin’s stunt itself was simply that as well, with the actress becoming damn near irrelevant in recent years.
