Obama Administration Sacrifices a General to Make Up for Hillary’s Crimes [VIDEO]

To protect the wicked but claim equal application of the law requires government sacrifices.

In order to give the pretense that it enforces the law equally, the government sacrifices a less important person to cover themselves when they let a more important criminal go free. Recently, the FBI covered for criminal Hillary Clinton. So now we see the damage control in the case of General James Cartwright. The headline to Josh Rogin’s editorial in the Washington Post is on point: “General Cartwright is paying the price for Hillary Clinton’s sins.”

Who is General James Cartwright and what is his crime? Here’s a news clip:

Trending: Fuel for Thought

I’m not arguing that Cartwright is innocent. But the discrepancy between the treatment he has received and the treatment Hillary Clinton received is breathtaking.

Rogin writes,

Under his plea deal, Cartwright could face up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Last year, Petraeus cut a deal with the Justice Department after admitting he had lied to the FBI and passed hundreds of highly classified documents to his biographer and mistress Paula Broadwell. He pleaded guilty to a single misdemeanor of mishandling classified information and was sentenced to two years probation and a $100,000 fine.

Clinton was not charged at all for what FBI Director James B. Comey called “extremely careless” handling of “very sensitive, highly classified information.” Comey said that although there was “evidence of potential violations of the statutes regarding the handling of classified information,” the FBI’s judgment was that no reasonable prosecutor would have filed charges against Clinton or her associates.

Did you catch that? The charge was that he lied to the FBI. Lying to the FBI is a crimeunless your name is Clinton. As Rogin says, the way Cartwright is being treated “reeks of political considerations.”

But it gets more perverse. To any normal person, the Cartwright case just provides further proof that there is no equal justice in this country. It shows that the rule of law is dead.

The government doesn’t see it that way.

They are doing their own version of what CNN did when it exposed one of Hillary’s minor lies. Since CNN wants you to think they are doing legitimate news rather than campaigning for Hillary Clinton, they occasionally need to do a negative story on Clinton in order to refute those who call them out as shills.

In this case, the government sacrifices someone who is expendable to try to regain their reputation as enforcers of the law.

According to Rogin,

In its statement announcing the conclusion of its three-year investigation of Cartwright, the FBI emphasized that his prosecution showed that the Justice Department is willing to go after senior officials.

“The FBI will continue to take all necessary and appropriate steps to thoroughly investigate individuals, no matter their position (emphasis added), who undermine the integrity of our justice system by lying to federal investigators,” said Assistant Director in Charge Paul Abbate.

But the treatment of Cartwright actually indicates exactly the opposite. Cartwright was on the fringes of the ruling class, but was in no way embedded as deeply as Hillary or even Petraeus.

When the government sacrifices the less important for the sake of the more important, it doesn’t reassure anyone. We are occupied by a criminal regime!
