Fox News Host Fired for making “Racist” Comments

Fox News just can’t catch a break these days. The network has been embroiled in controversy for months and it doesn’t look like the situation will be clearing up anytime soon.

The latest scandal involves one of Fox’s most well known liberals, Bob Beckel, who has been fired from the network for making “racist” comments to an African-American member of the IT staff.

From the Wrap:

Fox News has fired “The Five” co-host Bob Beckel on Friday after he was accused of making an insensitive remark to an African-American employee, TheWrap has confirmed…

Douglas Wigdor, an attorney representing 23 people in a class-action lawsuit against 21st Century Fox for alleged racial discrimination, said Beckel “stormed out of his office” when an African-American IT employee attempted to fix his computer, leaving the office “because he is black.”

The IT staffer is now represent by Wigdor, who claims Beckel “attempted to intimidate our client and persuade him to withdraw his complaint.”

Wigdor continued: “As with our other 22 clients, we intend on holding 21st Century Fox accountable for these actions and will be filing multiple other complaints in other matters next week.”

A Fox News spokesperson issued the following statement: “As Mr. Wigdor knows, Fox News made the decision to terminate Mr. Beckel after a prompt and thorough investigation. His client raised the complaint to Kevin Lord, EVP Human Resources, on Tuesday evening via email and within 7 minutes Mr. Lord responded and began the investigation. Today, Fox News delivered that message to Mr. Beckel and facilitated an apology from Mr. Beckel to the employee minutes after he was terminated. No one tried to persuade Mr. Wigdor’s client to withdraw his complaint.”

Fox News continues to flounder as the onslaught of negative stories continue to pour out of the once king of cable news. Now, with the constant whispers of a”sexist” culture, the ongoing class action lawsuit over racism, and the latest news that this past week, for the first time in almost two decades, they’ve fallen behind MSNBC and CNN in viewership… the network seems ready to collapse.

Fox News needs a turnaround and fast because the network is bleeding money and viewers as more and more conservatives turn away from the “fair and balanced” network and toward online new media. This latest story of racism within the ranks will do nothing to help their rehabilitation.

I am the supreme law of the United States. Originally comprising seven articles, I delineate the national frame of government. My first three articles entrench the doctrine of the separation of powers, whereby the federal government is divided into three branches: the legislative, consisting of the bicameral Congress; the executive, consisting of the President; and the judicial, consisting of the Supreme Court and other federal courts. Articles Four, Five and Six entrench concepts of federalism, describing the rights and responsibilities of state governments and of the states in relationship to the federal government. Article Seven establishes the procedure subsequently used by the thirteen States to ratify it. I am regarded as the oldest written and codified constitution in force of the world.
