Unless Hillary Clinton is a robot, she must live in a constant state of fear that her entire legacy could come crashing down around her at any moment.
Most conservatives believe, and I would argue for good reason, that Mrs. Clinton, her husband, and others in their close personal orbit have likely committed more than a handful of crimes over their years living in the public light. Whether it’s the many credible accusations of sexual harassment and assault laid at Bill Clinton’s feet, or the whispers of financial crimes surrounding Whitewater and the Clinton Foundation, or the failure to protect national secrets (because of her political aspirations) that Hillary Clinton has recently been exposed for… the Clinton’s seem to be implicated in far more criminal activity than your average political family.
Their connection to many of the ongoing crimes being investigated by the Department of Justice and our intelligence community is likely way they continue to appear on law enforcement’s radar.
On Thursday, the Hill reported that the FBI was launching a new investigation into various aspects of criminality surrounding Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation. In particular, the FBI is interested in discovering if the Foundation was engaging in “pay to play” behavior with both foreign and domestic donors.
FBI agents from Little Rock, Ark., where the foundation was started, have taken the lead in the investigation and have interviewed at least one witness in the last month, and law enforcement officials said additional activities are expected in the coming weeks.
The officials, who spoke only on condition of anonymity, said the probe is examining whether the Clintons promised or performed any policy favors in return for largesse to their charitable efforts or whether donors made commitments of donations in hopes of securing government outcomes.
The probe may also examine whether any tax-exempt assets were converted for personal or political use and whether the foundation complied with applicable tax laws, the officials said.
One witness recently interviewed by the FBI described the session to The Hill as “extremely professional and unquestionably thorough” and focused on questions about whether donors to Clinton charitable efforts received any favorable treatment from the Obama administration on a policy decision previously highlighted in media reports…
For years, news media from The New York Times to The Daily Caller have reported countless stories on donations to the Clinton Foundation or speech fees that closely fell around the time of favorable decisions by Clinton’s State Department. Conservative author Peter Schweizer chronicled the most famous of episodes in his book “Clinton Cash” that gave ammunition to conservatives, including Trump, to beat the drum for a renewed investigation.
But it’s not just the FBI who are taking a harder look into the Clinton Crime… er, I mean the Clinton family’s behavior. The Department of Justice has some questions about their behaviors as well.
Justice Department officials are taking a fresh look at Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while she served as secretary of State, The Daily Beast has learned.
An ally of Attorney General Jeff Sessions who is familiar with the thinking at the Justice Department’s Washington headquarters described it as an effort to gather new details on how Clinton and her aides handled classified material. Officials’ questions include how much classified information was sent over Clinton’s server; who put that information into an unclassified environment, and how; and which investigators knew about these matters and when. The Sessions ally also said officials have questions about immunity agreements that Clinton aides may have made.
The Daily Beast’s Betsy Woodruff who broke the story paints it as a political witch-hunt by Trump’s DoJ against Clinton. However, the fact of the matter is that in recent days we continue to learn that the FBI may have mishandled the investigation from the beginning. Earlier this week we learned that the FBI gave immunity to a Clinton employee who they KNEW was lying to them. We also learned that the FBI was drafting their statement, absolving Clinton of any crime, long before they actually completed their investigation. Finally, a witness recently testified to Congress that James Comey had misled them about the fact that the FBI had looked into whether or not Clinton’s team had violated the federal records act. Comey said the FBI had looked into it, but the witness explained that Comey lied and the bureau had never considered that angle at all.
For the first time, investigators say they have secured written evidence that the FBI believed there was evidence that some laws were broken when the former secretary of State and her top aides transmitted classified information through her insecure private email server, lawmakers and investigators told The Hill.
That evidence includes passages in FBI documents stating the “sheer volume” of classified information that flowed through Clinton’s insecure emails was proof of criminality as well as an admission of false statements by one key witness in the case, the investigators said…
The investigators also confirmed that the FBI began drafting a statement exonerating Clinton of any crimes while evidence responsive to subpoenas was still outstanding and before agents had interviewed more than a dozen key witnesses.
Those witnesses included Clinton and the computer firm employee who permanently erased her email archives just days after the emails were subpoenaed by Congress, the investigators said…
Comey told Grassley back in 2016 that the FBI did investigate whether the unlawful destruction of federal records occurred.
But Grassley’s staff has now obtained a sworn affidavit from an FBI agent that directly contradicts the former director’s assurance. The agent testified under penalty of perjury that the Clinton email case did not address the destruction of federal records, Grassley said.
The Hill’s reporting is full of new material that proves the original FBI investigation was at it’s most innocent, terribly handled, and at it’s most pernicious… obviously a miscarriage of justice meant to benefit the Clintons and the Democrat Party.
Either way, it puts to lie Woodruff’s assertions in her Daily Beast piece, that the renewed investigation is simply a political ploy.
Crimes were committed, both by the Clinton team and likely by the FBI and the DoJ, and those crimes should be investigated and the perpetrators should be held accountable.
