Dr. Ben Carson Calls Hillary a “Hypocrite,” Says Trump’s Immigration Stance is the Same as President Bill Clinton’s!

Dr. Ben Carson, comparing Bill Clinton and Donald Trump’s stance on illegal immigration:

“When he [President Bill Clinton] says it ‘Wow. Great standing ovation. This is a great President!’ When Trump says it, it’s Hate Speech. What hypocrisy. What incredible hypocrisy!”

Dr. Ben Carson appeared on Fox News Sunday this past weekend for a contentious and direct interview with host Chris Wallace. Wallace pushed Dr. Carson on Donald Trump’s recent outreach to Black America, and in particular, Trump’s recent visit to Detroit’s inner city. He wondered if Carson was being used as a “prop” to ingratiate Mr. Trump with African-American voters and he wondered why it took so long for the campaign to visit one (or any) of America’s inner cities?

However, the money moment of the interview came when Wallace moved the conversation towards Mr. Trump’s recent trip to Mexico and his ensuing illegal immigration reform speech. The Clinton camp’s talking points on Trump’s speech seemed to set Dr. Carson off. He quickly pointed out that Mr. Trump’s current stance on illegal immigration mirrors President Bill Clinton’s position from less than 20 years ago.

(The entire interview is worth watching, but skip to about 5 minutes to see the pertinent section on illegal immigration.)

Here’s Clinton in 1995’s State of the Union commenting on illegal immigration:

We are a nation of immigrants. But we are also a nation of laws. It is wrong and ultimately self-defeating for a nation of immigrants to permit the kind of abuse of our immigration laws we have seen in recent years, and we must do more to stop it.

Dr. Carson’s argument is an important reminder about the heart of this campaign – the Democrats will lie, cheat, steal, and rewrite history to win. Meanwhile, the GOP is simply trying to defend our borders, protect our rights, and shrink the government…

I am the supreme law of the United States. Originally comprising seven articles, I delineate the national frame of government. My first three articles entrench the doctrine of the separation of powers, whereby the federal government is divided into three branches: the legislative, consisting of the bicameral Congress; the executive, consisting of the President; and the judicial, consisting of the Supreme Court and other federal courts. Articles Four, Five and Six entrench concepts of federalism, describing the rights and responsibilities of state governments and of the states in relationship to the federal government. Article Seven establishes the procedure subsequently used by the thirteen States to ratify it. I am regarded as the oldest written and codified constitution in force of the world.
