Unless you’ve been sequestered away under your favorite rock for the last two years, you are likely familiar with the idea of the “resistance”.
This loose-knit, (but totally serious you guys), group of liberal anti-Trumpers have spent the last 20-some months attempting to convince the entire nation that Donald Trump is [insert bad thing here].
We’ve heard that the president is a sexist, a bigot, a racist, a Kremlin agent, Putin’s secret lover, a democrat in disguise…the list goes on and on. And on.
One of the most egregious, however, has been the accusation that Trump is somehow the supreme bigot to end all bigots. This has been one of the most effective lies of the left, thanks in no small part to the liberal stranglehold on our nation’s language. You see, every time that the left needs to win over a new section of the voter base, they simply put their resources into some fringe, leftist cause. Then, their candidates speak directly to these as-of-yet unheard of constituents, solidifying that only they can identity and treat the problems of this niche voter group.
Well, of course. That’s because the left identified the group and its problems to begin with. They invented the problem and the language around it so that those who weren’t in the know wouldn’t be able to politically compete.
It’s divide and conquer at its finest.
Now, as the Census Bureau begins work on yet another of its titular epics, one question in particular has democrats furious…only because it affects one of their prime, segregated voter groups.
The 2020 U.S. Census will add a question about citizenship status, a move that brought swift condemnation from Democrats who said it would intimidate immigrants and discourage them from participating.
Congress delegates to the commerce secretary the authority to determine census questions. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross had until the end of March to submit the list of questions to Congress. The department said the citizenship information would help the Justice Department enforce the Voting Rights Act, which protects minority voting rights and helps prevent the unlawful dilution of the vote on the basis of race.
“Secretary Ross determined that obtaining complete and accurate information to meet this legitimate government purpose outweighed the limited potential adverse impacts,” the department said in its announcement.
As with all things immigration, the left simply cannot believe that our government is concerned with who enters our country, for how long, or for what purpose. This census question has wholly irked the liberal left who rely on these illegal votes during election season.
Of course, Commie-fornia had something to say…
California Attorney General Xavier Becerra said the state will sue the Trump administration over its decision.
“We’re prepared to do what we must to protect California from a deficient Census,” he said.
The President’s hope to return out nation’s border security to the realm of law and order has been bizarrely opposed by a number of left-leaning Americans, thanks to the democratic insistence on promoting illegal immigration and increasingly simple paths to citizenship.
